Is the Christian god 'trinity' considered polytheism within Jewish thought? I know this can be quite a convoluted topic so I'm open to different opinions.

Thanks!

Many Jews I've spoken with, all of whom ranged from very traditional to very progressive, pretty much have said something along those lines.

As far as what is "officially" said? I mean, it would make sense to also say that the Trinity is a soft form of polytheism, but I'm not too entirely sure.

I grew up in the Baptist church, and I'd say that the Trinity, as taught when i was kid, would qualify as polytheism.
While it is said that they are all one God, in practice there are three very distinct entities with very different aspects.

While I have heard that some xians don't believe that jesus is a god, I've never encountered them. All the xians that I know of, worship their man and call him a god. In addition to the trinity, many xians also assign god-like status to their devil. So the polytheistic xians have anywhere from two to four gods.

I personally label the trinity as polytheism.

And those who pray to saints. I consider that schittuf. What about you?

I would call it a kind of polytheism. It resembles Hinduism, where there can be thousands (even millions?) of deities, but in the end there are only one (Vishnu?) god with many different types of the same entity, like in the trinity in Christianity.
