Meaning and Interfaith

What does your Faith/Religion/Non-Faith mean to you with reference to the interfaith movement and what do you think can your Faith/Religion/Non-Faith mean for interfaith?

I'm familiar with the term interfaith and interfaith work, but not an "interfaith movement." Someone is going to have to explain that to me.

Please forgive me for being unclear. By 'movement' all I mean is any interfaith activity or, as @Quintessence say, work. Whether this is some organised interfaith dialogue or other organization or just personally doing your part for interfaith. I'm just interested what your faith or religion mean to you in reference to interfaith and what you think your faith or religion can do for interfaith

There are a number of contemporary Pagans who choose to participate in interfaith work, while others do not for various reasons. It's something I'd like to get involved in more on the local level - I see some of my role on RF as being interfaith work on some level. A major reason many Pagans do this work is because most people are pretty ignorant about Pagan religions. You hear stories from people doing interfaith work as Pagans about being the only non-Abrahamic representative at such meetings, and often the people at these meetings have never even met a Pagan before. While we are a religious minority in my country, we're not that small - odds are you've met a Pagan and didn't know it, as many of us aren't that open about our practices (both because we're not preachy religions and because we're sometimes discriminated against as a minority group). Speaking of discrimination, interfaith work plays an important role in combating that by dispelling misconceptions and facilitating valuing diversity and pluralism.

Baha'is are very active in both local and international interfaith conferences... On the local level in my community Baha'is are represented in our Interfaith Council. I was a past President of the Council and we worked with other groups representing various Christian, Muslim and Jewish organizations. When there was an attack on a local church I personally visited the church and assured them we supported them. We also have educational programs and interfaith programs planned each year.. The one being Thanksgiving where we have an interfaith choir.

Baha'is are active in the Parliament of the World's Religions.. See:

A Baha'i principle states the following:

"Wherefore, O my loving friends! Consort with all the peoples, kindreds and religions of the world with the utmost truthfulness, uprightness, faithfulness, kindliness, good-will and friendliness; that all the world of being may be filled with the holy ecstasy of the grace of Baha, that ignorance, enmity, hate and rancor may vanish from the world and the darkness of estrangement amidst the peoples and kindreds of the world may give way to the Light of Unity."
