Dying for a lie

History shows that some of the earliest Christians, including the original apostles, died in truly terrible ways including crucifixion, hanging, stoning, and beheading. My question to you is; Do you believe these men would have died for something they made up? Would they have endured that kind of persecution for a lie?
Good question. What do you think?

Did millions of German soldiers and civilians die for a lie in WWII or was Nazism essentially sound?
Firstly, I don't believe the Nazis expected to lose. And the average German, whether a Nazi or not, was coerced to fight and die, even though many would not have done so, given a choice. The early Christians went to their deaths rather than renounce their faith. True Christians today, including many in Nazi Germany, did the same.

So, in your view, when people die for a cause, the cause must be true or just because people died for it?
