Life found on Mars

yes but again 99% is great odds.

we have never been this close to conformation

Yet, that 99% figure is only in the opinion of one man. It has not been confirmed by others and has a number of critics. Not to mention the general consensus was that no life was found

You're basically throwing out the scientific method here. You can't rely on only one unconfirmed result. The results have to be checked and rechecked. And since the consensus and previous studies suggest that there was no life found, Miller has to do quite a bit more.

Its better then mythology

and despite this, its some of the better evidence we have at this time.

face it, its only a matter of time before life is found off this rock

So what you have in mind,
will life evolved in mars after millions of years and then we can see(not us of course) different humans, cows, maybe dinosaures again.

It doesn't confirm life on Mars, but it certainly means one thing....
Further exploration looks to be interesting.
I don't want some arcane statistical analysis which strongly suggests life.
I wanna see the critters! To experience is better than to almost know.

the article says that its not confirmed yet.

But it will be interesting if bacteria is found ... the evolution of life 'apparently' happens because it happened here, so surely it could happen on mars or any other planet?

I don't think it's better then mythology at all. At least with mythology you get a decent story and a teaching. With this, all we get is someone abusing the scientific method and leaping to claims that can't be confirmed yet.

Also, why do I have to face anything? Why in the world would you assume that I think we are the only life out there? Especially when I have already stated that I think there is life elsewhere?

his finding showed life plain and simnple and he reported on that and gave you the skinny on each side of the story. being as honest as one could get.

if you call that abusing, you may need to go back to church or school and rething your method of gaining knowledge.

No, a news article gave both sides. He stated that he was sure that his study showed there was life. The reporter stated that there were critics, that it was generally accepted that no life had been found, and that his methods were questioned by others as the methods he used were questionable at best. Not to mention that his results are still unconfirmed.

As for your final statement, that is just a ridiculous statement.

Regardless of this study Astrobiologists think there is a 50/50% chance of life on mars still.
