Perhaps, but as Ancient Babylon had long since fallen, and John had to write somewhat in a coded manner, and taken with the fact that followers of the Emperor Domitian had to wear his mark in order to trade in the market place ( mark of the beast).Also Domitian insisted on being worshipped as God, ' Dominus et Deus noster'. And he persecuted Christians.

Satan is real and hell is a real place. When we die we go to spirit prison or spirit paradise and await judgement. We are then assigned a world or place to live for eternity. We will go where we feel most comfortable. We are not all lumped together.

Point them out to me sometime, would you? I don't think I've ever spotted hell on a map or seen Satan drive by in a Mercedes.
Why, in all His powers, can God not instantly judge everyone? Why would you 'await' judgment?
Are you a big believer in eternal torment and punishment? I can't imagine anyone would profess to feel 'comfortable' in a river of boiling blood.

What I meant is this. Don't take my word, or anyone elses word, for truth until you ask God if it is true. You can ask God if what I, or anyone else, says is the true. God through the Holy Ghost (Spirit or Comforter) is the only source of perfect truth. The scriptures are another source of truth. Men can testify of truth by the power of the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit or Comforter). You can know truth by the peace of mind it gives you. Lies only confuse the mind.Fatmop said:

Do you have any first hand experience of the God; ot do you simply imagine that you have. There's no delusion like self-delusion, but wait, that could be another piece of confusion sown by the devil. Indeed, perhaps Gods peace of Mind is just a trick of the devil. And words, are just words, Non veritas verba amanda, confusing isn't it....

Thanks, quite interestind reading. I will add, that purple was the colour of the Emperor of Romes officiall attire, and I think further supports the indentication of ' Babylon the Great ' with Domtians Rome. I recall there was a thread somwhat earlier dedicated to this fascinating subject. I'll look for it later.

This thread is not about a denomination. Forget about denominations and look inside your heart for the answers. It's not about a denomination it's about people. it's about you and me. Are you a follower of God or a follower of the Devil. There seems to be a cut and dry line in God's eyes. Of course their are varying degrees on each side of the line.Solon said:

Well, I do not think there is a "devil". The only "Satan" is the baser nature of every person's Self. I have a "satan" within me, it is my unGodly nature. I also have God within me, it is my Godly nature. When I seek to act for myself alone, I am following "satan", when I seek to act for others I am following God.
