CNN calling IA caucuses for Huckabee and Obama

doppelganger

Through the Looking Glass
CNN is now calling Iowa for Obama for the Demcrats, and for Huckabee on the Republican side. Early polling data suggests the religion question was the decisive factor for Iowa Republicans favoring the Evangelical Huckabee to the Mormon Romney. Meanwhile, Obama pounded everyone among young (17-29) voters.

Also a bad night for alleged national "frontrunners." Billary looks like she's going to finish third, while Rudy "did I mention I was mayor of NY on 9/11" Guiliani is poised to roll in at #6 - right behind Ron Paul. Ouch!

I for one would not trust a Baptist minister with our nuclear arsenal. George Bush was enough of a liability, and now this.

As if being a baptist has anything to do with it. I don't trust the Huckabee because he speaks out of both sides of his mouth. Must be an Arkansas thing.

I bet Hillary's head spun around like in the exorcist.

I don't trust AIDS patients and homosexuals with Huckabee.

Huckabee called homosexuality 'sinful' - Mike Allen - Politico.com

article said:
If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague.... It is difficult to understand the public policy towards AIDS. It is the first time in the history of civilization in which the carriers of a genuine plague have not been isolated from the general population, and in which this deadly disease for which there is no cure is being treated as a civil rights issue instead of the true health crisis it represents.

Huckabee is the candidate I dread winning. God help us if that is who the Republicans nominate. It will be the nail in the coffin that the Evangelicals have taken the Republican party hostage.

Third party, anyone? How about a party that is led by a real conservative who is concerned about more than abortion and gay marriage?

I have a hard time seeing how anyone could vote for the Huckster. Seems like a nice enough guy, but he is ultraconservative on social issues and ultra liberal on fiscally. Seems like the worst of both worlds from my vantage point. If I were a democrat I would be hoping he wins, because he gets slaughtered in a general election, regardless of who he runs against.

I can't see the Republican party uniting behind Huckabee, much less the country. Ugh.

Tonight is the worst night of my life. :D

Somebody just wake me when the whole thing is over.

I know that's a sorry position to take but the whole lot of 'em...just depress me.

Here is my thing with Huckabee, besides his horrible ideas, he has come out and taken what has usually been a liberal democrat strategy. What I mean is, he seems to be going with the idea that it is more important to let people know that you feel sorry for them, rather than offer any real good ideas on how to make things better. In other words, he seems to be caught up in this emotionalism where the only thing that really matters is your ability to convince people that you can show emotion over their particular plight. It is so dumb to me. What is the point of feeling compassion when you can't do anything to fix the problem? He is a dud. I am so depressed.

I don't think that the Republican race is close to being over. Huckabee won't win New Hampshire. He will probably win South Carolina. I doubt he wins Florida, Nevada, or Michigan.

I still think Rudy or Romney will be the nominee.

Obama will probably win for the Democrats.
