What benefit is there to interpreting scripture literally, as that the fire is a real fire that will sweep the earth? Doesn't sound very beneficial, least not to those who will survive, if any.

Whatever the benefit, I'm sure those who believe in a non-literal meaning for scripture find at least as much benefit.

It's a wake up call to be pure/holy/ready when Christ returns...

You're misquoting me here Wizanda, nice trick, you added something I did say (second half of the sentence, after the comma) with something I didn't (which is the first half of the sentence before the comma) the devil does the same trick with scripture......

I lived in Japan for nearly two years. I absolutely adore and love the Japanese people they are near and dear to my heart, I miss Japan deeply, it was hard to come back to the states......

I've never had that kind of love for any other race consume me so completely before or since...
