If Christmas is called Jul (Yule), then it is Yule, not Christmas.

Christmas is, indeed, a Christian holiday.

Wrong. In norway, sweden and danmark we always have called christmas the name jul. In many hundred of years

Even in English up until Victorian times Christmas was sometimes referred to as "Yule" or "yuletide." Jul and Christmas are two different holidays by two different people groups originally, but over time jul was absorbed and incorporated into Christmas as Christianity grew in popularity. There's still echos of jul in modern day Christmas, such as with the Yule log

There's also a lot of misinformation out there about this topic specifically

Does Jul celebrate the birth of Jesus?

Yes in Norway, Danmark and Sweden we celebrate the birth of Jesus. And to us jul is christmas

My point with the tread is that since Norway, sweden and danmark call christmas jul, it is proof that christmas has pagan roots

Then how is this different than Christianity?

Most, if not all, "christian" festivities / holidays are a hodgepodge of non-christian traditions that were absorbed / merged / hi-jacked / whatever-you-wish-to-call-it
And this is the case for many religions, not just christianity.

Christmass / Jul, for example, is the celebration of the winter solstice.
You'ld be hardpressed to find a human culture in history which didn't "celebrate" it one way or the other.

Just because Christmas has another name elsewhere doesn't mean it has pagan roots.

I will agree that celebration of the birth of Jesus was moved to the time of year that the solstice was celebrated by pagan religions in order to facilitate conversion to Christianity, but that's not the argument you presented here.

Well since the name for christmas in norway, sweden and danmark is jul then it is proof that christmas has pegan roots

Jul is not simply another name. Because of this:

The I'm not understanding what you're attempting to argue here. Your post says Christmas is not only Christian and your evidence is that Christmas is called Jul in Norway and Sweden, which are Christian countries.

I'm genuinely confused by what point your trying to make here.

I'm not sure if you're agreeing, partially agreeing, or disagreeing.

Most people who celebrate "jul" do so celebrating modern Christmas in Scandi nations. Others celebrate "jul" with the intent to get as close to the original celebration as much as possible, though this can be difficult to do with the lack of information we have from those days, so sometimes newer pagan traditions are incorporated as well for some people. It's a complicated topic

I guess yes to agreeing, partially agreeing, and disagreeing! Heh

No. Again, Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus. The birth of Jesus does not have pagan roots.

I'm well aware of what Yule is. As a former Neo-Pagan, I have celebrated it. It's not a Christmas celebration.

My view is that it is neither “pagan” nor “Christian”. A dollar bill is neither Christian or pagan. You can use a dollar bill (or Christmas tree) for Christian purposes or for pagan purposes.

Deuteronomy 6:7
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

If we take the Christmas tree and use it to teach them about the Tree of LIfe which is found on the Cross of Jesus; if we teach that that the Star is the Star of David that led the wise men to the gift of peace and good will to all men through Jesus; if we teach them that the gifts that we give is sharing the gift of Jesus and all the gifts that are throw Him as we love one another; if we teach them that the lights on the Tree are people that nest themselves into Him and become the light of the world...

then we used it for God no matter what other people did with a tree.

That's true. Christmas was intentionally set up to coincide at the same time with the harvest festivals like Saturnalia.

Decorations, festivities, food, drink. and merriment.
