Evolution of races

NewGuyOnTheBlock

Cult Survivor/Fundamentalist Pentecostal Apostate
Did Adam and Eve start out as zebra's

Do you realize that this is a racial slur used against offspring of one black/one white parent?

You asked where the races evolved from.

We have explained to you that races did not evolve.
We have explained to you that genetically, the differences are so minor that they are completely insignificant.
We have explained to you that the differences in skin tone have to do with Vitamin D metabolizing and Melanin.
We have explained to you that there is no such thing as "race" scientifically, medically, biologically.
We have explained to you that race is a manmade construct.
We have explained to you that these statements are not "political correctness" but are "historically" and "scientifically" correct.

Yet you persist.
And in persisting, you are (inadvertently) using racial slurs.

As humans we are all the same.
As skin tone and bone structure we differ.

If anyone thinks a god created one man and one woman, that doesn't explain differences

Do you follow me now?

Why did you even bring up the Adam and Eve myth? And you do not seem to know how evolution works. Though only two people would create an insurmountable population bottleneck (though in this case it would be better to use the term "founder effect") that the human race would have gone extinct, if they did manage to reproduce successfully over the generations then people in different environments would be under different environmental forces. Those in areas with low amounts of sunlight would still be under pressure to lose melanin. Actually the young with less melanin would be more likely to pass on their genes than their darker cousins and the population would lose skin tone. They would be come "white" or "Asian".

Racial slurs must be a man made construct.

Put away political correctness and safe spaces. Sometimes its good to discuss controversial issues.

This thread isn't about who's better, or who's anything. its simply about different races, how they evolved and curiosity of what others think.

Whether you accept evolution or believe in creation.. IMO all race didn't arise simultaneously.

If its offensive to you skip on by. I don't expect much but .....

We evolved from apes. But did all races evolve simultaneously? Did one race evolve before the others?

On the other hand...

If you believe humans were created by a god, what race were they created as? Where did other races come from?

PS: IMO whites did not evolve first. So lets put that racism, white supremacy, or whatever BS to rest.
Oh and I'm not white, I'm Native American.
Race doesn’t exist in biology afaia
That would be like saying humans are all different species. There are sub species within our group but as I understand it, that occurred much earlier in the evolutionary tree.
Like I learnt this in freaking high school, so please don’t quote me on this lol

We evolved from an ape like creatures.
I believe the first humans evolved in south central Africa, what is now Botswana. They spread out, there are maps of the routes taken earlier in the thread.

We all had dark skin, lighter skin colours did not began to appear intil around 100,000 years ago probably as a result of a genetic mutation without a selective pressure (though i believe a weaker sunlight was the cause of the mutation).

It seems we are all the defendants of one mother, genetic Eve or MDNA eve.

"Along the way we encountered other Hominins such as Neanderthals and Denisovans.

So is there a possibility humans evolved from different ape lines on different continents?

Same basic line, but different branches. Sort of like marrying a cousin.

Yeah... So did dark skin humans exist first, before others.

People with dark skin probably existed before people migrated out of Africa and developed lighter skin in response to the reduced sun levels at higher latitudes.

Same thing happens with hair color. You seldom see blonde hair at low latitudes.

But, for example, it is likely that Neanderthals were light skinned since they had moved to Europe.

The question is strange because it emphasizes the amount of melanin in the skin, a pretty minor characteristic. We can also ask when blue eyes people developed and find it was at a different time than green eyed people (most likely), but both were after dark eyed.

Race is a *social* construct, not a biological one. Skin color is a minor adaptation to an environment.

I'm saying IMO the black race evoleved first, While the majority of that population stayed put in Africa, small groups broke off and migrated out of Africa and then kept migrating creating the different races we see today.

And some populations went north, probably got light skin, then moved south again and got dark skin again.

Why does it matter? Our closest animal relatives live in Africa still. They have light colored skin under their fur. Our furry ancestors likely had light colored skin too. We with fur we would have needed it for vitamin D production. The loss of fur increased the sunlight to our skin so protection from UV would have been a need and the ample sunlight would have lessened the need for Vitamin D. We could still make it even with melanin. So our "human" ancestors became dark.

By the time our ancestors left Africa they would have been dark. But they would have lost that. But all one race at that time. And for practical reasons still one race today. Just differences that are only literally skin deep.

Evolutionary history is more than skin deep - Understanding Evolution

I know that dogs and cats have dark gray/blue skin under their dark fur, and pink skin under their light fur. I figured it was the same for other animals, but maybe not.
