Evolution of races

We Never Know

No Slack
Put away political correctness and safe spaces. Sometimes its good to discuss controversial issues.

This thread isn't about who's better, or who's anything. its simply about different races, how they evolved and curiosity of what others think.

Whether you accept evolution or believe in creation.. IMO all race didn't arise simultaneously.

If its offensive to you skip on by. I don't expect much but .....

We evolved from apes. But did all races evolve simultaneously? Did one race evolve before the others?

On the other hand...

If you believe humans were created by a god, what race were they created as? Where did other races come from?

PS: IMO whites did not evolve first. So lets put that racism, white supremacy, or whatever BS to rest.
Oh and I'm not white, I'm Native American.

Genetically our species (Homo Sapiens) started out in Africa, and then exiting Africa eventually spread through the East and West. Along the way we encountered other Hominins such as Neanderthals and Denisovans. Did we mate with them? Probably.

Either way as we traveled more northwards lighter skin tones became more advantageous than dark so as to synthesize vitamin D.

So is there a possibility humans evolved from different ape lines on different continents?

Here is how we spread out of Africa. As we traveled, our populations began to become selectively advantageous to each of the ecological locations they filled.

Part of the reason why this is so physically apparent, is that we are genetically and physically a very young species, so the variation is still visible.

No, the Denisovans, Neanderthals and Homo Erectus all came out of Africa.

Ok. So dark skin races came first?

Not that I am aware of. the entire gamut of variation exists in Africa in regards to skin tone: white, black, yellow, etc.

As it is the most genetically and environmental diverse places on earth.

Edited: needed to clarify

Ok. Thats what I am asking. All races, black, yellow, white, brown all existed in Africa and then spread across the globe?

Wrong question. Or wrong conception about evolution.
You have one population A which splits into two, e.g. by geological separation. Both evolve further or die out. So, the daughter populations are both equally old and equally evolved. Both daughter populations may later split again at different times or only one may split. Then you can say that the granddaughter populations had a later split.

As far as we can tell genetically. Can't really ask anyone lol.

To my understanding, which may be completely wrong,, the environment in Africa wasn't shifting extreme enough in difference to create the different races, they were created once they migrated out of Africa.

"You have one population"

Exactly! The population more than likely wasn't a mixed race.

The white skin was an adaption of humans in colder climates as camouflage in areas covered in snow. Think polar bears. This is why in the winter our skin gets more pale than in the summertime without the snow, when we become tan, so we can blend into taller grasses better in order not to be eaten by killer rabbits.

Ask Mr. Science! He knows. :)

Same to you.... So dark skin races came first?
Yes. Though when it comes to our ancestors, before Homo sapiens, but I do not know exactly when, they were lighter skinned. When we still had fur our skin would have been more like that of modern chimpanzees. Rather light. Fur protects from UV. But we moved onto the plains and eventually lost our fur so at the same time our ancestors would have developed darker skin to protect against UV.

When our ancestors went north, those in Europe for example, there was a greater need for more Vitamin D and a lower need for protection from UV. We lost our melanin as a result.
