Germanwatch has released this years ranking of 59 countries plus the EU of an index evaluating actions against climate change. Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI)

Some examples:
1. Denmark
5. India
8. UK
16. EU
48. China
49. USA
56. Russia
60. Iran

Where's your country? Are you happy with that?

I don't think Germany always has to be first but 13. is depressing, especially as we where higher up last year.

No...I am not happy at all especially because when you have a capital city with countless cheap means of transportation (subway train, bus, tram, taxi, uber) and so many people still use their own car. Or they could use their bicycle or at least electric cars.
But also in small cities, for God's sake, use the bicycle. Use the bus. Or go on foot...it's also healthy.
And by the way, since in Germany hydrogen trains are now a reality, I am not seeing an effort in their spreading.

Egypt is number 20.
17. (Within the listed countries. Note that the first 3 ranks are not assigned.)
Morocco is 4.
It shows that climate action is not only a game for the rich countries of the western world. It is possible even in countries with more precarious political and economic circumstances.

Politely asking power plants to produce clean energy seems to work! I wonder if the generators run on tea?

France is around 70% nuclear and 8% renewable. The idea is to reduce reliance on nuclear and fossil while moving to more renewables. Methinks it's happening to slowly.

I don't know about tea, there is plenty more f wine... But it's far to precious to use as fuel

I am rather pro nuclear. It is far less polluting than fossil fuels. Is France cutting down on nuclear before they have renewable replacements?
