Double-blind Prayer Efficacy Test -- Really?

Scratching head, scratching knee
I recall when people (particularly feminists) viewed polygamy as unnatural and exploitative.
Progressive people said it will never happen, and people who warn about it are religious moralizers with extreme POV's
Times change, now liberals are having second thoughts about polygamy.

What else will people have second thoughts about? I suggest pederasty. When you see school books showing kids giving oral to adults, you know it's coming.
Hold on. Can you present some evidence for this promotion of polygamy and child abuse by liberals?
(Of course you can't. It exists only in the fevered imaginations of right-wing nut-jobs. Get some help.)

“But there’s one thing I’d never tell Nick in a million years, not that it really matters: in fourth grade, at a church youth-group meeting, out in the bushes behind the parsonage, I touched Doug Goble’s dick, and he touched mine. In fact, there were even some mouths involved. It’s not something I’d even think about all these years later, except that Goble is the hottest real-estate agent in Kitsap County. His face is all over town — signs, billboards, Christ, even on shopping carts.

You can say pedo doesn't really matter, but that's a shift. And it's the movements and directions that interest me. If you love your country, your society, that should interest you too.
You quoted that out of context. In context he is talking about when he and Doug Goble were in the fourth grade together.

Now I may be a bit confused here, but I do not think that they allow adults into the fourth grade. There was no pedophilia in that book. This has been explained to you countless times. And adult remembering something that happened between him and another adult that was a child when he was a child is not pedophilia.

If I recall an issue arose in Virginia over a book called the Lawn Boy. Same books in Texas too I think.
But I haven't looked it up - it was just in the news once with a parent-teachers conflict.
"Something apparently happened somewhere, so someone said. I haven't looked into it and I don't know the details, but I'll happily keep repeating some made-up stuff long after it has been thoroughly disproved".
Is that what you meant to say?

I cannot believe it! The one case that she actually mentioned was not a case of pedophilia. It was of an adult remembering something that he did as a child with another child of the same age.

Oh noesss!!! Children sometimes experiment sexually with each other! I have never heard of such a thing <snort!!>.

Dunno, just read about it somewhere. Never read the book.
Doesn't matter. School books routinely promote homosexual and trans - something activists promised would never happen generations ago.
If fellatio in school books isn't here then people will demand to know why not.
"Ok, so you have disproved my claim, but I'll keep repeating it anyway. And I'll make up some other stuff as well."
Is that what you meant to say?

But I haven't looked it up - it was just in the news once with a parent-teachers conflict.

"Some of the passages in the book were considered to be depictions of pedophilia by the parents who spoke at the meetings in both Texas and Virginia. Evison, responding to the allegations, explained that the scene in the book "involves an adult man recalling a sexual encounter he had with another fourth-grader when he was in fourth grade." According to the author of the book, after news began spreading about the challenge at the Texas school district, he started to receive death threats."

So once more then you have peddled homophobic bigotry, that is entirely false. Also do you think it's ok to make death threats to people who say things you don't like?

"Carol Memmott, reviewing for The Washington Post, says "Evison takes a battering ram to stereotypes about race and class" in Lawn Boy. Memmott also comments on how the novel deals with racism in the United States, citing a section of the book to exemplify how Muñoz is "constantly reminded of what it means to be brown in America."

<CITATION>

Lets see if we can piece together why right wing extremist and racist and homophobic bigots have targeted this book and the author.

"The book received a starred review by the Library Journal, which stated "Evison combines humor, honesty, and anger with an insightful commentary on class that's also an effective coming-of-age novel. Lawn Boy was one of American Library Association's Alex Awards recipients of 2019, "for the ten best adult books that appeal to teen audiences"

Time for a new unrelated disjointed rant, this one has been exposed as entirely false.

Doesn't matter.

What a spectacularly idiotic claim, you haven't even read this book, and it doesn't say what you claim it did.

School books routinely promote homosexual and trans -

No it doesn't promote any such thing, it is an biographical account of the authors struggle against bigots and racists. However even if it did, sow what? What is wrong with gay and trans people exactly?

something activists promised would never happen generations ago.

Well that sounds like more bs you've made up, but even were it true, it gets another giant so what?

So... do YOU have a problem with man to boy fellatio if both are consenting parties?
Where do YOU draw the line?
Should there be a line?

THERE WAS NO MAN TO BOY ANYTHING. That would be the lie part, the author was recalling a sexual encounter he had in 4th grade with another 4th grader. If you cared less about promoting hate speech against minorities, and creating negative stereotypes, you might occasionally fact check this kind of bigotry, it took me ten seconds to find the book and author and establish this is a lie peddled by religious right wing homophobes.

Jesus wept....they were the same age, and the author was recalling it as an adult, you are peddling homophobic bigotry that isn't true. No one here would defend child sex abuse. Well the Catholic church maybe.

I know it has to look as if @PruePhillip is lying, but I seriously do not think that she is. She read something that she decided was true and runs into all kinds of cognitive dissonance when it is refuted. I quoted the passage for her. I got mine from a source similar to hers that read an obvious discussion about a consensual encounter between two boys in the fourth grade and somehow totally misinterpreted it because both of them were adults at the time of remembering the event. Perhaps we should be slinging "Optimistic" smileys at each other meaning "I hope that she will get it but I seriously doubt it". Maybe she needs the touch of green ink that you added to your posts. That may be her language.

Yes you are right, maybe. I need to relax - it's probably about 4th graders having oral together.
In my mother's day she spoke of people reading a whole book to get the ONE SWEARWORD in it. And people would defend such books because the occassional swear words were 'just fly specks' in the literature. Till swearing was normalized.
Big issue then - do we add child fellatio to our 'sex education' or is it already in there ???????

ps you denied this work even existed yesterday.

Sadly, this is the first factually correct claim you have made.

Yes, most of the world is 'bigotted', including most of the third world and Asia.
Women are women, men are men. Homosexuals don't get married. Men can't be dead-beat dads. Broken homes are bad news. You don't marry the government. You don't give money for nothing.

And while you call them 'bigots' what are they calling you?

Yes you are right. It's about school boys and fellatio - in school books. That makes it ok.
But why can't a man help out here? I mean, anything goes.

This is Orwell stuff. We turn everything on its head.
So kids having fellatio, or doing drugs, whatever, isn't the problem - it's the Catholic Church!
This church is disgusting, why? Probably doing fallatio or drugs, whatever...

You can't work what "they were the same age means, in response to your endless repetition of the false right wing extremist lie that the book involved paedohilia ? Or that falsely accusing a gay man of paedohilia, just to discredit him is bigotry? I think you can and do understand precisely what was meant, and haven't the integrity now to retract the claim you have repeated endlessly, even now it has been exposed as a lie, created by right wing religious extremists, that you peddled without bothering to fact check yet again to pursue your homophobic agenda.
