Nonsense Scriptures?

Scripture does have some very wise Noble things like: "turn the other cheek and love your enemies", just what an evil bloodthirsty regime would need to conquer the world.

Napoleon could have been the emperor of the entire Earth, if everybody would just turn the other cheek , and love him, like Jesus commanded.


Is there any scripture verses that you think are nonsense? It has to be in the new testament, the old testament, or the deuterocanonicals.

If you don't think any of the scripture is nonsense, is there anything in there you disagree with, or that you find is closer to being nonsense than the rest, anything that stands out?

I would say Noah cursing the descendants of ham, simply really bothers me. Slavery really bothers me. Hard work, forced labor, being owned, is just terrible. Hard work without pay is just atrocious! That even the New Testament promotes slavery is just out of control!

And condemning all the descendants of somebody because of a very minor offense their father did, is just terrible! And it came from like the holiest man on Earth at the time. I just, words do not describe, how terrible that sounds to me!

When God told Eve that because she ate some stupid piece of fruit, , that we all have to die as a result, and women have to go through all kinds of childbirth pains multiplied, and dying while they give birth, because Eve listenes to a talking snake, and ate a piece of fruit, it just strikes me as being extremely cruel, extremely atrocious, extremely narcissistic, extremely tyrannical, and I would rather cease to exist , than spend an eternity worshiping a God who would do such a thing!

I personally believe that God wanted Adam and Eve to fall, cuz he tempted them with forbidden fruit, he allowed a serpent (that he created ) into the garden to tempt them, he didn't show up as their knight in shining armor to protect them, and he allowed them to be so unintelligent they would listen to a talking snake, then punished and essentially murdered everybody, including you and i, because of their disobedience!

If such a story is true.

I simply can barely stomach such cruelty, inhumane treatment of creatures you claim to love and be a father of, and I think it's extremely sad that we have a creator that would actually do that, if indeed it's true!

The tale of Adam and Eve is a tale.

The pattern said of the woman being a helper of the man is a puzzle.

Each word is 1. either misinterpreted 1. means something beyond the normal psych 3. written wrong..so may, so very many, spells trouble!

I don't think that it was real disobedience. They were dim as the rest of us are. Just know that the Bible is a teaching story. It's not a test or a contest.

Nah, I wouldn't beat you up. I talk a big game, but I seldom resort to actual violence(though I like to play fight for the sport of it).

With my oldest, when he's in trouble, I tend to act dramatic(fake a heart attack) because when he gets caught doing something wrong, he gets angry. If I act silly and ridiculous, he can't help but smile, and then we can discuss what steps need to be taken to correct the situation. With the middle, I eat his snacks. Its one of the only thing that works with him. With the youngest, he simply goes to his room until he can compose himself again.

So, yeah. My steps would be, see Adam and Eve doing stuff they're not supposed to, fake a heart attack and fall on the ground, grab the apple and eat it myself, and send them both to separate sides of Eden so they can collect their thoughts and decide how to do better in the future.

The bible was written as no sense existed first. The exact place theoried.

I admit, I know little of Christian scriptures, but I never recalled God putting on a dramatic display or eating their apple. The last bit I could see... but did he let them come back when they were ready to play nice?

Because it is helpful to vent, and I feel I am interceding for the world, by asking God to be nicer and kind to people.

It could potentially be a good service to humanity to point out hate and bigotry anywhere, including Scripture!

I don't hate God, and I love my enemies, because they are confused and don't know better.

I get angry, but I love all people and don't hate anyone.

Any loving person should point out hate! I will point out cruelty, hatred, and bigotry, and it is found in Scripture!
