Hate speech in the Quran and Bible. Should it be tolerated/accepted?

Should we oppose the hate-speech in the Bible and Quran?

I'm against censorship but I'm especially against hypocritical censorship. Allow the Christians to quote Psalm 14:1 but also allow me to call them idiots.
It should be called out. Christians still tend to be rather prejudiced against atheists.
It makes it silly this idea that being a Christian and finding Jesus is supposed to make someone a good person. This passage does promote bigotry and upfront seeing people as bad people.

**mod edit** I asked you to recognize God's acts of love and mercy, and not that of Mother Theresa's or any other altruist, which has absolutely nothing to do with what my contention is towards your abusive posts.
Another personal attack.

Do you see me attacking people with personal attacks?

I love you. :)

And I love the Father. :)

I just think his hatred is disgusting, and I despise some of his behaviors that cause people to suffer (Sometimes forever and ever).

God was very loving to me. The most loving thing he did for me was lead me to Shinto where there are no Doctrines. And he gave me some women in Heaven to be my Queens, with lots of signs, coincidences, and wonders, and sweetness, that makes me happy! :)

God gave me Jesus to die for me and atone for my sins. Praise God! :)

But he has also been very hateful and cruel too, to countless people, and that needs to be pointed out.

I'd very much like to see a historical argument that supports that.

One must at least admit that if "Christianity" could make -- and did make -- sound, biblicly supported arguments for both sides, then it cannot have been Christianity alone that led to the end of slavery. Something else must have been going on, no?

Like the values of Humanism, perhaps?
It is rather difficult to say Christians ended slavery when the Bible very much does permit slavery and is reaffirmed and enforced throughout, without so much as a single condemnation of it.

Thank you so much though!

(I mentioned that earlier on this thread.)

And how about all the babies and pregnant women God ordered the Israelites to murder....or how about the virgin girls God sanctioned to be taken away as sex-slaves (After being traumatized and watching their relatives and friends get violently murdered and city burned and looted.)

That's another great example. They were greatly wronged through acts of evil. And it was commanded by their god.

I mean... some here would inevitably list Job as an example. Though I do not see this as cruelty, some do.

And I agree that many people ignore or miss out on the most awesome aspects of God when they choose to instead obsess over the things which offend them.
Job is a rare exception as far as God's apparent caprice is concerned, but, that ends with an account of God's overwhelming generosity. Suffering strengthens us, and woe to those who never go through hardship. Again, Job is a rare example, that does not even really qualify as gratuitous cruelty on God's part - but rather a profound lesson to all mankind - God's ways are beyond man's fathoming, but always righteous and for our best.

Try to understand it. As I explained, His cruelty is nbot gratuitous but His patience and mercy is. How many centuries did He wait, and warnings did He send out before the annihilations? Noah warned the people, they laughed at him. Jonah warned the Ninevites, they heeded the warning for a time. Lot warned the people around him, but they didn't believe. God said explicitly about the Canaanites, that not until their sins have mounted to an intolerable degree will I destroy them. Again, your view is not balanced, and you are espousing and propagating contempt for God.

Letting his kids be killed is not generosity. It is wickedness. It is heinous. Like when Abraham was instructed to kill Isaac. Even ordering it with no intention of having it followed through, that is not righteous to tell a parent to kill their child. That is evil.

You do not know God nor Jesus. What devilish nonsense that you're speaking of is a fabricated man-made religion. Both Jesus and his Father were only revealed through the Judeo-Christian Bible. How you have managed to syncretize or bastardize it with Shinto, is beyond comprehension and acceptability.

Firstborn of Egypt is a good start.
Pharaoh killed them, not God. Pharaoh was warmed beyond acceptable tolerance. One simple request: let my people go, and Pharaoh wouldn't comply. After nine miraculous and ominous plagues, Pharaoh wickedly denied the Israelites emancipation, and increased their workload to an inhumane degree. God said 'let them go, or else' and Pharaoh killed millions of his own people by putting his entire country at risk.
Pharaoh was not guiltless, nor were the pagan and idolatrous Egyptians..

Actually,
Speaking of ignorance.

You already practice Shinto and you pray to Kami. The word Kami means "God". Japanese Christians call God Kami , because I have seen how Christian prayers translate into Japanese. The same word for God and Spirit are simply "Kami".

The only doctrine of Shinto is "Belief in the Kami". That actually sums up the entire religion. And you my friend, already believe in Kami, therefore you are a Shinto practitioner and embrace Shinto Doctrine. There are no Scriptures or known founder. So, nothing to argue about. For all you know, God could have been it's founder. ;)

Nothing in the intrinsic nature, essence, or Doctrine of Shinto contradicts Christianity. Please get your facts straight before telling me I "Bastardized" something. When you overcome your bigotry , we might be able to have a fruitful conversation.

And yes, your condemnation of Shinto is absolutely bigotry as well as ignorant!

Have a nice day! I love you! I forgive you! :)

You're gonna lose this conversation my friend. God killed them by hardening Pharoah's heart and making it stubborn

Exodus 7:3

New International Version
But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt,

New Living Translation
But I will make Pharaoh’s heart stubborn so I can multiply my miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt.

You lose the argument my friend! It's quite easy to win. :) The Bible has errors obviously!

Heaven is an eternal reward, you need to smarten up SW and quit being so shallow by wallowing about your life on earth so much, and start appreciating the big picture. We all suffer, and there are probably very few who have not contemplated about giving-up, in one form or another, on many occasions. Jesus saw many suffer and die, but he knew that God will wipe away all their tears. Jesus spoke against this world, whereas you seem to glorify it as being the 'be all, and end all' of human existence. You should know better, but your interpretation of Scripture is just skewed.

Cat got your tongue about God hardening Pharaoh's heart @DNB :)

It could make your life a lot easier if you stopped defending a text loaded with repeated verses of wrath, hate, bigotry, calls to violence, and a jealous God. ;)

It could make your time on RF more pleasant if you simply admitted that the Bible contains errors and stop trying to exhaust yourself with the impossible task of defending a text that is loaded with contradictions! :)

Like i said, Shinto is man-made putrid nonsense. Salvation comes through the Judeo-Christian Bible, so knock-off your Japanese, excuse making nonsense. And your Queen of Heaven idiocrasy.
Read your Bible, and leave it at that, and try harder to understand it, avoiding at any cost to denigrate God.

You're too angry to win this argument, your understanding of Scripture is too shallow. Ask Pharaoh who hardened who's heart. Or, ask yourself who hardened yours. ...there's more than one correct answer, if you understood God's sovereignty and man's autonomy...

The way you judge people and how you speak in a condescending matter reflects a person who isn't very happy.

"Love is kind" is a Scripture verse. Scripture wasn't wrong about everything. i'm just saying it contains some errors is all. Relax. :)

I can see Scripture has given you a heavy bitter judgmental heart. It shows.

Now, you might say, "Spiderman is judging me". I'm simply pointing out that you insult people and you kind of **** on what other people hold as sacred. Happy people don't do that. They would offer charitable correction , not insult and degrading talk.

What I'm pointing out in you are actually negative qualities.

What you condemn me for is I'm simply asking people to be more kind and take a stand against blatant hatred and bigotry. You don't see me calling other people's beliefs putrid or insulting others as you do.

I love you! I forgive you! :)

Man-made putrid nonsense? The only Shinto Doctrine is simply "Belief in Spirits".

Oh, it's man-made? Can you tell me the name of the man who invented it or made it up then??

How do you know God didn't select women in Heaven to watch over me or object to me calling them "Queens". You don't know. So, why bash it?
