Kemetic Books

I've found some books useful for this; not many at the minute but here are some I like,

Conceptions of God in Ancient Egypt: The One and the Many.

This book seeks to demonstrate the polytheistic nature of Kemetic religion and takes umbrage with the Victorian/early 20thc. idea that Kemetic faith has a monotheistic root or such. It's very good and very indepth. Goes more into detail about Kemetic theological concepts than the title implies, going beyond its original premise. Very in-depth look at various Kemetic words and their meanings. Translated from German so somewhat of a wooden read but very academic. Interesting for a monotheist like me.

The Search for God in Ancient Egypt.

This is another book translated from German and a dry read, but very well written and also very academic. The author inserts his own thoughts but they are worth reading. It is a look at Kemetic theology and various concepts associated therewith. I'm really enjoying this one.

The Oxford Essential Guide to Egyptian Mythology.

A wonderful wordbook of Kemetic terms and ideas, albeit maybe somewhat outdated.

I recently bought 'Awakening Osiris'. It's a loosely translated Book of Going Forth by Day in poetic prose and it's really good. The chapters have been reworked into prayers/hymns/spiritual prose in a magnificent way. I would recommend this book. Definitely not for use as a direct translation but that's not its aim.

Another one just came today, "The Book of Gates - A Magical Translation". It looks promising.

I have two books on my to-read list currently. Need to get them out of storage first though.

"Futhark, a handbook of rune magic" by Edred Thorsson

And "Beyond the North Wind: The fall and rise of the mystic north" by Christopher McIntosh

Edit: not that these are Kemetic, mind you.

Recently I have been reading "Akhenaten: The False Prophet" (boring), "24 Hours in Ancient Egypt" (okay), and I think a few others. Not really Kemetic but more historical. Been reading a bit back through "Seven Faces of Darkness", really the only Webb book I find much value in anymore. "The Case for Polytheism" isn't specific to Kemeticism but is really interesting whether you agree with the author or not.

"Seth: A Misrepresented God in the Ancient Egyptian Pantheon?" is a fantastic paper/book on the god, as is "Deconstructing the Iconography of Set".
