Give me a good reason for not leaving RF

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
Right now i am in a time of pondering what RF really mean to me, of course all the good discussion with friendly outcome is a pleasant excange, and i have some very good friends in here, And this is keeping me in RF right now.

As most if not all already know, i do not have anything against Atheists who want to discuss, but to be brutally honest, all the negativity toward God or other deities that are spoken about in RF, It has come to a point where i no longer feel a need to defend my own belief, and when this is spoken about in threads, this become seen as negative. Maybe it is no fun for people to not discuss the same topic about God vs No God anymore when the believer stop defending their belief.?

To me RF has been a free area where i can speak openly and with no worries, but this is no longer how i see it.
It is more of a pain to come in to RF this days. and RF has become more and more boring place to be.

So please give me a honest reason why I should stay.

You'll be missed by me and others if you leave. I also have my concerns this could be a heat-of-the-moment decision you could potentially regret later.

However, if you leave because you feel it's best for you, I'll understand.

Perhaps you just need a break?
But I can imagine there are better places on the internet if you're looking for more like-minded people to discuss and debate spiritual matters with...

It is not that i must leave :) I can stay with no problem but i am honestly really tired of the negativity (might be because i experience negativity in my personal life right now).
I do not understand the constant push for telling believers that they are wrong in their personal belief in a God.And this make me think about what the real reason I stay in RF is. and now i do not have an answer

Maybe you should stick to the Interfaith board for awhile to give yourself a break. You see, in some of these debates, a lot of atheists understand logic very well, and you have to debate on their level to appeal to them - either that, or be ready to change some of your ideas as part of intellectual honesty, or just develop a very very thick skin. I'm afraid that sharing your beliefs with them, isn't always what they're looking for. They're looking for a bit more explanation that that, and proofs.

Why you should stay... You are a great poster. Often interesting even for an atheist. Non confrontational and understanding.

How you should stay... See @Secret Chief post. Ignore those you feel are giving you pain.

Despite our earlier disagreements (when you didn't like atheists at all) i for one would be saddened to see you go

But, your choice.

I realized that their logical thinking is not how i thinking and believe, that is true. Maybe because they do not understand the spiritual realm i my self am able to see, make it difficult for them to understand my belief.

So yes i have one week vacation now from my daily work, and maybe a week of RF is what i need :)

Thank you @ChristineM the reason why i open the OP was to gain feedback and i do see the value of all what has been said. So i think One week off RF might be better than become frustrated and leave for good. not sure i would get any better from that

It's up to you what you want to do. However, you can also be a logical thinker and a theist both - it just takes a ton of work and study, studying how formal debates work, etc, and maybe an interest in arguing subjects as well. I'm getting to the point where I feel I can do that and almost keep up. But some aren't there yet, and it may be best not to debate if it is hurting their faith.

My own belief and practice is not what i worry about :) My belief in Allah is very solid. Just that it seems like some dont want to accept that since they can not get the evidence they want given to them :)

To be a believer is not an easy road for sure. and i do crash landing a bit often my self.

I think it can be difficult to accept that some people can be very hubristic about their knowledge of "facts".
When I get confronted with this, I see it a means from God to test or measure my own humility versus my arrogant tendencies.

I felt it useful to show the definition of a Debate in case Conscious Thought's problems are mostly in the Debate boards:

Although I'm not sure if the noun form is used for RF or more the verb form. Probably the noun form, so ignore the highlight I did.

Dear Conscious thoughts

I like that you say why you are thinking of not checking in here as often any longer. It’s good for the platform owners to know why users stop coming too perhaps.

I wish I could say that I come here to be inspired but, as with most things online, I find that coming here every day, for me, is mainly a question of (bad?) habit …and habits are hard to break - that’s why these platforms are so addictive.

I also don’t feel that I myself inspire others an awful lot here either. I find that a pity, because there are few things lovelier than seeing when hope, inspiration and smiles return to a previously suffering “face”. I think my ego is involved in that emotion somewhat, but I am weak to it like that.

Should you wish to stay in touch, I’ll PM you with my contact details. I’d be glad to continue to hear about your personal path and progress.
