Have you ever thought...

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
Have you ever thought that you are a religious important person, someone sent to "help" or fix those who you believe is fallen?

Have you ever thought you are an reincarnation of a biblical person?

I'm much more in need of help.

Have you ever thought you are an reincarnation of a biblical person?

No and that reminds me of something I read:

"Oh, that man who's just about to bow at the shrine?" Baba nodded, "Yes," and then gestured, "He is bowing down to himself."

From this I understood that in a previous life, that man had been the saintly person that all had come to honor. But see the fun. The saintly person, in a new incarnation, had also come and was now bowing down in reverence to his own tomb! This fun in illusion was a great joke for Baba.

I remember when i was younger, maybe around 25 years old. i had a thought of my self as a "Bodhisattva" that was when i still was a Buddhist :) But i did realize very soon i was no Bodhisatva

I remember when I first heard about what a Bodhisatva was... and thought "that's what I want to be when I grow up!"

I'm a long way from growing up. Several lifetimes, at the very least. Possibly several hundred...

I believe you can make it this lifetime if you truly went for it :) But it is a very very difficult path to walk i heard (and tried, even i failed)

Not exactly religious (though she was a priestess) and not exactly a reincarnation but I'm sure I have Cassandra somewhere in my lineage.

It is all a question of effort. You did not make the necessary effort and accepted what is normally believed - scriptures and religious messengers / teachers. Buddha advised against that - Kesamutti Sutta - Wikipedia.

That is not true, it is a myth. Enlightenment is when you abandon prejudices. There is no next life.

True :) Looking back at who i was that time, My Ego was so big because i thought i was great in what i did and what i thought i understood. Knowing today that actually i did know or understand very very little, as i still do :)

No. I have always been the opposite. Told my mother at age 10 "all people are equal, whether Christians or not, whether Dutch or not".

I have met many who thought they were better, spending 10 years in Sai Baba's Ashram. Even 30 years later they still think they are more special than others)

Indian Scriptures declare that this is the most difficult obstacle to overcome on the Spiritual Path. Even God can't cure it.

I really liked "Animal Farm" of A. Huxley. That little gem was all about this issue.

Valuable and great story, good to realize.

Sai Baba told us "Never think you are more special than others, and remember, that you all were rapists and murderers in previous incarnations". Puts all of this in perspective.

Hence arrogance and pride is very relative and totally misplaced. Just means that people rather forget these things or are unaware of it

That's what I've heard, but I'm not confident that I'll make it this time around(maybe my problem is lack of confidence, then).

Hehe, I've heard growing up is a myth...
