I don't see why people say Goku would lose:

As a kid Goku was able to dodge and deflect bullets

Going so fast that nobody could see him

As a teenager Goku could lift Piccolo

When fighting Vegeta he could push back the Gallick Gun (power to destroy Earth) and all it did was annoy Vegeta

Moving so fast it's as if he was standing still

All Goku needs to do is get Superman away from Sol and Sol like stars. Goku's power isn't dependent on an external source.

I don't think Goku needs more than Super Saiyan 2:

Goku in his base form- Superman win
Goku as a Super Saiyan- evenly matched
Goku as a Super Saiyan 2 - Goku wins

Whomever the plot demands would win. Power consistency has never been present in either franchise.
