Since God exists in a higher dimension (90 degrees to our ordinary world), a 6th sense is necessary to communicate with Him/ it/ her. During this 6th sense, praying out loud may be the natural thing to do in order to gain protection against recognizable (in the 6th sense) threats of evil such as demonic forces. The sense that one is being preyed upon by invisible forces demands immediate and urgent prayer. And because reality is a self-aware God, at the highest level, signs of acknowledgement by reality via sunlight (in my familiar case) may be apparent. The prayer is effective at not merely reassurance, but genuine protection against these unseen forces of darkness. The spiritual aspect of one's body may be quite pronounced during this spiritual experience and one's distinct physical form may directly influence the sunlight in the room one is in psychically. Again, the sense that one is being watched or preyed upon may be quite prolific and the natural reaction is to counter that with a dominant assertive prayer to drive away the evil presence. The television may also communicate exactly what is relevant to what is occurring in the bedroom you are in by what Chris Langan calls... a state-recognition syntax. A psychical connection to a God has certain advantages that makes one privy to the inner workings of reality and disadvantages such as the burden of dealing with a new responsibility.
