What are the major scientific errors in major religious scriptures?

Jabar

“Strive always to excel in virtue and truth.”
You do realize, I hope, that even the Mahābhārata, which contains the Bhagavad Gītā, predates Islam by almost 1,000 years. And the Mahābhārata is nowhere near as old as the Vedas. You are talking about things you know nothing about.

Nope, i already answered how Islam is older.

A common belief is that Muhammad was the founder but if you actually read the Qur'an it is when man set foot on earth.

This forum is ruined anyway.
But still got him to Shush up.
It would be insane to hold the Quran as scientifically correct but most Muslims will deny it as they do with most scriptures that advocate for violence.
The Vedas are rarely taken literally so interpretation from non Vedic Hindus would be futile.

You told me to stop talking to you.

Now if you wanna make false accusations and start insulting the Qur'an and telling me i got shush up when you yourself did, then i will reply because i have a right.

:)

I think you are describing your own self, even after being kind toward you, you continue to ridicule not only me but Qur'an and say that i have gotten shut up.

The quran is what it is; illogical and Violent.
It's not insult or ridicule but a fact.
The blind will deny the sun over and over again but will validate the darkness that is 24/7 much like you denying basic facts but validating your personal imaginative facts.
Even wahabbi imams of Saudi don't have views that you do.

Jabar

“Strive always to excel in virtue and truth.”
But it's bogus.

Moving along...

Call it bogus but you have no evidence whilst i do.

If something goes against the Qur'an it is not right in my belief.

Saying flat out no to my information is kinda rude especially when calling it bogus.

I do not know who Dr. Elizabeth Krukowsky is or what her doctorate is in (I am suspecting it is not medicine). I am somewhat of a backdoor "expert" on Hansen's disease. My wife is a Public Health Nurse and the community that we live in (due the many Marshall Islanders who live here and their radiation induced immunodeficiencies) has a large number of Hansen's sufferers.

Here's what the Center for Disease Control has to say:

Hansen’s disease is caused by infection with bacteria.

Evidence suggests that the bacteria that cause Hansen’s disease can spread from person to person. This might happen when someone with the disease coughs or sneezes. This can release droplets into the air. It might also happen if you are exposed to other nasal fluids (also known as secretions). Droplets and other secretions can contain the bacteria that cause Hansen’s disease.

If you breathe these in, you can become sick with the disease.

In the U.S., leprosy is rare.

Around the world, as many as 2 million people are permanently disabled as a result of Hansen’s disease.

You may be at risk for the disease if you:

    • live in a country where the disease is widespread. Such countries include:
      • Angola
      • Brazil
      • Central African Republic
      • Democratic Republic of Congo
      • Federated States of Micronesia
      • India
      • Kiribati
      • Madagascar
      • Mozambique
      • Nepal
      • Republic of Marshall Islands
      • United Republic of Tanzania
    • are in prolonged close contact with people who have untreated Hansen’s disease. If they have not been treated, you could be exposed to the bacteria that cause Hansen’s disease. As soon as patients start treatment, however, they are no longer able to spread the disease.
Most adults around the world, however, might face no risk at all. That’s because evidence shows that 95% of all adults are naturally unable to get the disease, even if they’re exposed to the bacteria that causes it.

Is this biblical leprosy? Has the disease changed? Do we now have a widespread resistance to it? Are our immune systems better today?

Major scientific errors in major religious scriptures? Genesis, the Flood, Exodus, Leviticus, the Book of Mormon, etc.
The "leprosy" spoken of in the Torah doesn't manifest today like it did then. The Chabad Chassid say that it was so contagious, that everyone in the world has it. God in his mercy removed the signs of this "leprosy" so we all would not realize how sick we are.

Obviously, the "leprosy" of the Torah isn't the same as the disease you speak of, and may not even exist anymore in the way it existed back then.

It is obvious that the "leprosy" of the Torah wasn't the disease you speak of, and may or may not have been contagious, and doesn't even exist anymore.

Many things were called unclean, and the quality of being unclean was thought to be contagious. For example, menstruating women had to leave the camp until they were cleansed.

There had to be a historical disease behind the "leprosy" of the Torah, but for all practical purposes, one could call it almost mythological. As mythological as calling acne contagious and being quarantined for it.

I mean, why put menstruating women outside the camp? Would I "catch" a case of menstruation? The laws of what is unclean (and the uncleanliness is highly contagious) are ridiculously false.

No that is not obvious, that is your opinion based on your suite of "facts that are not in evidence."

Thank you for clear evidence of how wrong and foolish the OT concept of "cleanliness" was.

A false dichotomy, there are other alternatives.

You're beginning to see the light ... eventually, you may come to understand that most of the OT is, as you put it, "ridiculously false."

Sapiens, you call for evidence but you yourself do not provide them.

I remember last time you said an ostrich egg was oval, hahaha.

Evidence is not required to point out someone's lack of support for a claim, those are very different constructions.

With respect to your lack of knowledge concerning the shape of the Earth and the shape of an ostrich egg ... you are attempting to play retrospective pigeon chess, a game that doesn't wash even in the here and now. Go back and reread the thread, I suspect that you are remembering is the pain of your face plant, rather than the details of the conversation.
