Does the Bible Have to be "True"?

I believe all of the books that were considered to be what we know as the Bible were reviewed and scrutinized by men filled with the Holy Spirit. These same men also researched what should and should not be contained in each book. I totally accept the NIV as the written word of God, no more, no less.
You said sometime you might change your mind about it. Did I hear you right?

Tell me please how anyone who is "filled with the Holy Spirit" must also "research"? I think what the Bible calls what they need to do is to listen and to know imho

research the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.

@First Baseman Please read the thread title again. It does not say, "Does the Word have to be true". I agree with you please listen, The Word has to be true! It is true. It will always be true and has always been true. OK?

OKay. The Holy Spirit moves me to defend the written word with a great passion. To me the written word is Holy and is absolutely 100% correct. I believe that only God is right, everyone else, including me, that might contradict the Bible is just flat out wrong.

I flat out reject those who say, "Well, it has been translated incorrectly" or "It isn't the same as it was when written." It is 100% genuine. If it were not the Spirit would let me know it isn't and what parts are not. However, it is so that isn't a problem.

Believers are each given a measure of the Holy Spirit. This is why the NT says that Jesus was given the Spirit "without measure." "Filled with the Holy Spirit" means 100% control. Very few are blessed enough to ever be filled with the Holy Spirit in this lifetime.

Here you have linquistically called God the Bible. I know you know God is not the Bible. Do you see you calling them the same?

Tell me this please. Think of the greatest artwork in the history of the human race. It is damaged. Is it still good for anything?

It is not what I asked. Why is "research" needed for anyone who is controlled 100% by the Holy Spirt? Do you know Mr. Leen?

Hahahahaha Mr Leen has said that someone will say that the greatness of artwork is Oh God! I forget the word. It begins with s. Subjective.

How in the world do you arrive at this? That's just John 1 all over again and has nothing to do with scripture.

Wow, now you're putting words in Jesus' mouth. You're simply twisting the scriptures to fit your religion. It's not supposed to work that way. I just quoted you, but that doesn't mean I think you're typing the word of God. Jesus had a penchant for exposing the hypocrisy of the religious leaders of the day. What better way than to show that but by throwing their holy words back in their collective faces.

The apostle Peter mentioned the Global deluge coming as the result of God's Word. As to your assertion that I am "putting words in Jesus mouth" and "twisting the Scriptures", here is the actual words Jesus spoke: "In reply he said to them: “Why do you overstep the commandment of God because of your tradition? For example, God said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Let the one who speaks abusively of his father or mother be put to death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother: “Whatever I have that could benefit you is a gift dedicated to God,” he need not honor his father at all.’ So you have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition. (Matthew 15:3-6) The underlined phrases clearly show, to me at least, that God's commands and what he says are God's word, recorded in the Holy Scriptures and that Jesus considered the Scriptures to be the word of God.

YOU ARE NOT GOING TO LIKE THIS.

It is written that what you do to the least of the family of Jesus* you do to Jesus. I believe that.

The body of Christ is one body.

I think I can say that the body of Christ is 144,000 plus a head. The head is the Lord.

It is written that what you do not do to the least of Jesus brothers you do not do to him.

I think that is a scribal error.

I hear that it was written twice, what you do to the least one you do to The Christ.

I am as certain as the day has the sun that the sheep and the goats parable is not about doing neighborly deeds for people.

That is all for now.

I said what I have said. I do not wish to address the subjects or elaborate on them anymore than I already did.

There the scriptures were literally quoting God. That doesn't make all the scriptures the same. You can't extrapolate from a quote to everything being written by God.

Now your human tradition, which is not supported by scripture, is that the scriptures are the Word of God. Your tradition conflicts with John 1. Your human tradition also claims that the scriptures are inerrant which is not supported by any scripture either.

But back to scripture... do you really believe God said this?

Exodus 21:7 “If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do. 8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself, he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. 9 If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. 10 If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights. 11 If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money. Please don't twist my words to fit your preconceived mold of me.

What I said is obvious and direct. I suggest you go back and read it again.

What I said is that those men were filled with the same Holy Spirit that inspired the writers to pen the scriptures in the first place. If you don't believe that, fine, stop saying things about me that are totally wrong and particularly biased or just plain stupid.

You have no proof that the people who copied and translated scripture were filled with holy spirit. We know that the writing of it was done by the holy spirit because we can see the truth.

It appears as though I have my own personal troll here. Consider yourself reported.
