The Buddha Explains Universal Mind

Is this is meant to be a refutation...lol

Personally, I think it reflects it's fundamentalist origin.

Come. Follow me. And I will show you the wonders of....of....Buddhishism, a reasonable facsimile of the real thing, but not the real thing at all. Sort of like a shadow of the real thing. Buddhish. My favorite religion.

Buddhishts say: 'Every time you say the word 'Buddha', you should wash your mouth out with soap!'

Forget about what Buda say's, what do you think, we need to not put Buddha on a pedestal, we need to knock him off the pedestal to become who we truly are.

And so is the Church of Cosmic Consciousness. The sad thing is that you don't realise it.

OMG! I had no idea! First they lure you in with false promises, and then...BANG! Before you know it, there you are, proselytizing and carrying on like a cheap, brazen carnie barker, spouting the company line left and right. It's an epidemic!

One thing escapes me though: what do you suppose their doctrine might be?

There is nothing to refute, just a muddle of idiosyncratic beliefs and pronouncements with no substance, coherence or foundation.

I've provided some light relief in the next post, this will be sorely needed by the majority of contributors after this surreal journey down the rabbit hole.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Indeed, and letting go of all this BS is an essential step along the way. How can a mind cluttered with beliefs, theories and jargon buzz-words hope to see things directly?

Exactly. Like Brad Warner 's book title puts it, Sit Down and Shut Up !

Allowing distractions like beliefs, theories, and jargon buzz words to remain within an already jumping and chattering mind at the onset ...
It's a small wonder people go mad trying to figure things out and then consequently wonder why life isn't somehow any better once they think they got "it". *Grin*

It reminds me of that very first kensho occurring literally minutes after plopping the fanny down into that zafu, providing a notable and prominent first glimpse into the direct working nature of mind brought about by the subsequent acknowledgment that the untamed mind, " Happens to be quite noisy and deafening."

What do some people decide? Lets even shovel in more ideological and metaphysical crap and run like hell. ......

Dynamite clears minds.

BOOOOMMMM!!!!!

Ears ringing.... .........

Hello. Are you listening? Hasn't it already been pointed out that the understanding is not special? That Reality itself has no special doctrine you must believe in? The vision afforded by Higher Consciousness is simply a reflection of what is. Nothing more; nothing less. The Buddha told us that we all have Buddha Mind . Nothing Special. It's not something you 'get'; it's something everyone already has, but the way in is not in acquisition of knowledge, but in shedding opinion, concept, conjecture, until all is clear. So why are you intent on making it a Big Deal, when it is not?

Poetic exception aside...

Simply omit "Higher Conscious" and " of what is." (bolded)

And a slight correction noted (thus have I have heard)....

Of which Buddha Nature, not Buddha mind comes to the forefront. (Bolded)

Otherwise not a bad worded response. I like to think Roshi might say something like, "Close. Very close."

Again as has already been made clear to you....your criticism only addresses the 'finger pointing at the moon'....not the moon... Are you saying that there is no underlying unity to the cosmos?
