Should Christianity Be Easy?

sojourner

It doesn't matter.
They will believe in what they want, regardless of common sense, logic, facts, the absence of facts....that's what belief is.
So...
unless people believe like you -- that faith is stupid, then they're to be simply dismissed.
but wait! Didn't you just make the accusation:
judging someone else's stance on their own personal life choice.
Stop wasting bandwidth.

This isn't the bible. Read what's there and don't pick-n-choose.

But this isn't what it's all about. It's about should christianity be easy or not?

One of the reasons why many see it as a man made religion. A deity should make belief in it rather easy, answer question, leave more to find it other than a book ( it didn't even write, nor edit, obviously) and be more than it appears.
Of course there are those that say "it's all about how you interpert it".

Many people today could be a better god than the one listed in the bible.
Why do you get to decide what a deity "should" be?
Isn't that rather egocentric of you?

Don't make me dismiss you too! ;).
Katty & SoJo have proved my points. It was an "out" for them to save face. Though they can continue to spout off insults all the want, it just proves my points even further.
Huh. We didn't start the insults.

But you did.

If I could be one, I'd be a better one than the one in the bible, that's for sure.

So far, the answers seem to be in both fields of YES and NO:
YES for the people who may not be able, mentally, physically, socially or for whatever reason, to be "super educated" about it.
NO from the people who seem to want to make it difficult for some reason (though I have my suspensions).

I gave my answer. Christianity is as easy as life. Life can be easy or hard, same with Christianity. Knowing the why is complicated for both and not going to be easily discovered in the words posted on a religious forum, even one as grand and wonderful as this one.

It's been a long, drawn out process across many threads.
I think they're stalking me....
There's a term for people who consistently make insulting comments across threads.
You seem to fit the definition very nicely.

I said you're dismissed. You are free to go now as you, yet again, proved my points, one of which is the negativity christianity produces.
Thank you
And who was it who began the negativity in this thread? You can't spew the provocative drivel you've graced us with here and not expect negativity in return.

See? I can repeat myself too.
Difference is, my repetitions make sense.

Sorry. I quoted you but it wasn't meant to be TO you as I did get your answer. It was meant to get the thread back on track. But thanks for your answer, in case I forgot to say that!

To get the thread back on track:

I'd be interested to know what, exactly about Xy the OP thinks "should" be easy. Are we talking about becoming one? Are we talking about growing in spiritual discipline? Are we talking about understanding the tenets of the faith? Are we talking about ministry? What?

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Three people are standing in a room. They are Sojourner, Kathryn, and Connermt.

One of them is showing symptoms of developing trollism. Which one is it?

(Hint - it's not Sojourner or Kathryn.)

Connermt - contrary to your mother's chiding, your particular behavior won't cause you to go blind - or grow hair on your palms. But it may definitely cause you to start sprouting an unprecedented amount of back hair, especially along the new hump line, and an odd desire to suddenly take up residence under a bridge and start carrying a really big, gnarly stick.

One wonders if that would be (in his case) a suspension bridge...

He has his "suspensions," you know...

:slap:

This reminds me of something this old guy my dad used to know always said:

"Come on, tell the rest of the story - don't leave me in suspenders!"

I always thought, "Yeah, you old coot, you probably really are wearing suspenders," when he would say that.

We need a suspender smiley....

Dang skippy we do.

Do you think we shut him down, or do you think he's left the underside of the bridge to break into a chicken coop? Maybe he's out hunting possums or something.

Must be hard to be a troll AND have Tourette's Syndrome. Should we feel sorry for him?

Probably gone off to an atheist web site to gather more useless ammo for tomorrow...

"Troll and Tourette's: Remember Mike Myers as "Phillip the Hyper-Hypo" on SNL?

Will to love
Actually, I think you (Soj and Kat) have done him a good service, letting him vent all those pent up feelings like that. He's obviously working through a few things.
