Pathway to Salvation

Aww, that's all you're going to give us?

You do not believe. Until you have an open mind and heart you cant believe. Until then no one can help you. When you start searching for the truth with an open mind and heart you will start seeing it.

I can give you reasons to look around and see God and his work, but I have no idea if you even have beliefs or if you think a large rock created the world and it's atmosphere.

If you believe in God and in Jesus then you want to please them regardless of any possible rewards. When you were a child you wanted to gain favor from your parents in the same manor. There is a reward waiting for the good people that choose to follow because Jesus said that he was going to prepare a place. God is my father and I choose to do things to gain favor with him simply because of who he is and because he is always looking out for me.

Do you not find it the least bit curious that an infinite being would have such a crippling need to have its ego perpetually reassured?

It's an open heart and mind that has allowed me to see beyond the two dimensional caricature that you're attempting to pass off as a deity.

I dont find God to have a crippling need of anything. If you tell a child to do something, and you aren't obeyed are there not going to be consequences? It isn't as if God is having us do a million things. He isn't asking alot.

There are other religions. There are other opinions also. The Bible is the only thing I follow because I believe it is the inspired word of God. My beliefs can only be changed if someone can point out how I am biblically wrong.

If you take the Bible as the infallible word of God and choose to follow it, then you might not ever be proven to be biblically wrong. What you have described seems like a pretty normal idea of Christianity. In this way, you have stunted your viewpoint to only Christianity because that is all that is "right". I do not know you though so I will not make any judgements on your character or beliefs.

Perhaps you should be a little more open minded yourself when it comes to Atheists, eh? Atheists aren't just fools that can't see (well, I'd imagine there are some). Everyone has their own view of things. :)

I dont see Atheists as fools at all. I'm not someone who judges people at all. If someone can prove anything that is in the Bible as wrong I'd admit it. I'm not closed minded. Give me a reason to doubt the Bible or anything in it.

So what do you think caused animals, atmosphere, humans and eventually your heart to start beating? Luck? Something had to start the chain of events.

Perhaps, but certainly not the by the account of ancient, superstitious savages. I believe whatever explanation tends to be the most substantiated by logic and evidence.

Logic and evidence are good things. I am a very logical person. You haven't said what your explanation is yet. If we are both logical people, maybe we can figure something out.

you know why i wanted to please my parents?
because they loved me unconditionally...i interacted with them and when i sought their guidance i actually heard their voice telling me the way
the god in your bible loves us based on a condition, that we have faith
and based on following commandments...questionable ones at that

i will also say the things that a man named jesus said were beautiful and wonderful but he did say...nothing good can come from the heart of man
"the only good thing about you isn't you, it's me in you"

if a parent taught their child that they were worthless and the only thing good about them was their parents DNA, i would think that child would not value themselves...is this the salvation you speak of?
thnx, i'll pass

Jesus never said, "You must confess, believe I am God, sin atonement sacrifice, to be forgiven.'

Rather, he said, over and over again, you must repent (go back to what God said to do) and forgive others to be forgiven.

Mat 6:
14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

How does Jesus say to be forgiven in Mat 6? Forgive others. Where does it say in Mat 6 that I must believe Jesus is God? Can't find it.

God does love us unconditionally. It is written that it hurts God when people do the wrong things. It hurt Jesus to see people die even when he knew that they were going to Heaven.
I do not have a clue about that verse. Can you tell me where it is written?

Have you seriously read the book Of Matthew and not read Jesus say that he is the son of God? Are you quoting Jesus and accepting repentance without believing that he is the son of God?
