I think one is just playing word games and arguing for its own sake, with no desire to expand ones knowledge.

Maybe too much ice and snow up top? Anyway, again and again one of the points that paarsurreyji is refusing to hear or reflect upon but which has been interwoven throughout many of the answers provided by members making the attempt at thawing things out--not only here but in other so-called Veda posts he initiated--is the use of metaphor, simile and the like in Vedic/Hindu texts to give concept and context to the teachings. A teacher starts with the known (war) to help a student get to the unknown. An example I often use, particularly with reference to one of Islam's teachings, is the admonishment to "kill the infidel." Neither God nor His prophet(s) (pbu all of them) would tell His followers to go out and indiscriminately kill His children. Most assuredly, God is telling us to kill the infidel within ourselves, our egos, our ignorance, our stubbornly cold and closed minds clinging to avidya. Most assuredly, this is Truth.

"ice and now" reminds me that if the Veda People would have ever liven in the Arctic,Veda would have frequently mentioned of ice and snow and flora and fauna, the animals and the birds specific there. I don't think it is as such.
Just to mention, I don't subscribe to any particular theory as to where Veda People lived, migrated and invaded unless it is proved from the Veda itself. Let Veda speak and give the "knowledge", if any, if has its name from. Please

Regards

Both things are important. RigVeda mentions things which are possible only in the Arctic Circle. And Vendidad (which is the oldest book of Zoroastrians and a sister to Vedas) mentions a deluge by ice during Yima (Jamshid's) time, who is mentioned as king of men and was once dear to Ahur Mazda.

Yajurveda: “This battle is the source of thy prosperity; hence we goad thee to that battle”

Yajurveda CHAPTER VI

32. O Lord, we appoint thee as a king, as thou possessest the
vigour of a Vasu Brahmchari, as thou hast got the strength of a Rudra
Brahmchari, as thou art full of splendour, full of knowledge like an Aditya
Brahmchari, as thou hast the power of killing the proud foes, as thou art
full of dignity, and art quick in attacking in the battle-field like a falcon,
as thou strergthenest our finances, and advancest the knowledge of
science.
37. O mighty, glorious king, render thy subjects praiseworthy.
Thou art the conqueror of foes. None but thee is the giver of pleasure.
I say this unto thee.

  • Prosperity is sought with battles, no mention of peace, Ahimsa, or non-violence.
  • Also note that a follower of Veda/Yajurveda becomes pure and holy by following the commands in Veda/Yajurveda see post #115 . Is it favoring Atheism or Strong Atheism? It is not. Right? Please
  • Those who have one leg in one boat of Atheism and the other leg in Dharma boat should please note that if they don't worship God they will get to harm ,in terms of the Verse 32 chapter 1 of Yajurveda given in post#117 . Right? Please
  • The basic character of a believer mentioned in the Veda is not of peace but war only due to the collaboration of the Brahmins and the Kshatriyas against the lower classes and the untouchables. All such verses need to be compressed and only some given in every chapter as representative of so many, many many more. Right? Please
Is it peaceful? Please
Who were these millions of enemies? Please name them. #153
Did this battle happen before migration to the Indian-sub-Continent? Please
Or if the Veda people were natives of the Indian-sub-Continents, then the must have lived in it. Please identify them. Is it unreasonable to ask such questions? Please
Is purity being sought for winning the battle only? Please
Did the Vedic people win this war are were got defeated? Please

I am curious as to your frequent usage of the words 'right' and 'please'. Is this something that's normal in your native language that you're carrying over?

No, it is not unreasonable. Also, this should be reflected upon. But as they say, the proof of pudding is in eating. India with its population of 1271 million people is like a peaceful lake as compared to the Muslim world which exports terrorism to the whole world and also is itself suffering heavily because of it. As they say, 'you reap what you sow'. Why is it that the Muslim world is at odds with the rest of the world?

Yajurveda: “This battle is the source of thy prosperity; hence we goad thee to that battle”

Yajurveda CHAPTER VII

44. This first warrior, the master of medical science, keeps us
free from disease on the battle field
. This second warrior, the destroyer
of foes
, marches forth on the battle field. This third warrior, the preacher,
should encourage the fast moving brave soldiers. This fourth warrior,
full of delight
, should subdue the irreligious foes.

Hindus are basically pagans, dude. Not sure where you're pulling that wars against the irreligious thing. Religion as a defined phenomenon is essentially a Mediterranean invention anyway.

Also, I think these verses were written in Cuba.

We are discussing Veda, Veda people, in Veda period not the Post Vedic "Hinduism Religions". Please
I quoted from the Veda. Didn't I? Please

Paarsurrey, this isn't really any kind of a discussion in the normal sense. In a discussion, both sides respond to the other side's comments. The Vedas and Hinduism go hand in hand. Hinduism's main scripture is the Vedas. It makes no sense to say that the Vedas and Hinduism aren't related.

Namaste,

Which word have you translated as "irreligious"? No such word in the Sanskrit Mantra.

Tulsi Rams Translation

V11-44

Devta is Prajapati (protector of the people, ruler, king, warrior)

May this warrior, Agni, Clear the path for us. May this warrior, break through the enemy lines in front, advance on and on. May this one, fighting in the thick of battle, win battles one after another. May this one win the victory over the enemies and rejoice.

This is Mantra for the warrior in battle, not against any irreligious persons but against any enemies.

The Adyatmik (traditional Hindu Dharmah) interpretation is the prayer to the will power and blazing force (agni) to advance our great leaders (Prajapati) to take on any enemy outside and within and have no fear, to win the external and internal battles and cleanse the inner self just like one cleanses the outer self, so one can protect those who require protection without any hindrance and ego.

The coronation of the King.

VI-32

Devta is Raja (king)

I provide a shortened version. to stick as close as i can to the actual Sanskrit words, the Sanskrit Mantra does not start with "O Lord", but with Indraya Tva

(We elect and appoint) you for Indra, For (the creation of) Vasus, for the Rudra, (we appoint you) for the honor of the Aditya, you are appointed for the Army, and for producing wealth and prosperity.

V1-37

Devta Indra (again a shoter version trying my best to stick to the actual Sanskrit)

You (Indra), brilliant Devah, Wealth and Glory are you, There is no one other then you to Love, No one more compassionate and more gracious then you for us, this is the vary word of yours.

Yajurveda CHAPTER VIII

53. O 1 commander and soldiers, who march forward in a battle,
kill the man with warlike instruments, who fain would war with us.

If the forces of the enemy approach our sturdy forces and try to
increase their strength, kill them without fail
, and drive them away, for
your own happiness.

O 1 Hero, the Tenderer of our foes, rend our foes in all possible ways,
so that we may be rich in offspring, rich in brave soldiers, and rich in food
to feed with, everywhere, on earth, in ether, and sky.

Yajurveda: “This battle is the source of thy prosperity; hence we goad thee to that battle”

Yajurveda CHAPTER IX

5. O' commander of the army thou art the thunderbolt of the
king, who, expert in battles, wins the war, with thy assistance, May we
speedily bring under us, according to vedic justice, the vast, undivided,
honour-giving land ; on which the whole mankind is settled. May God,
the Illuminator of all, and generator of the universe sustain us on it.

6. In control of breath lies longevity, in waters lies the healing
medicine. Having realised the praiseworthy qualities of breath and
water, grow thee fleet and strong.

O f noble-minded wife and broad-minded husband may the com-
mander of the army
, the winner of battles, win the campaign, with your
strength, forceful like the waves of the ocean, and roaring like the
fast sea.

7. The learned, who like the wind, mind and twenty seven articles,
primarily harness swiftness in this world, may acquire alertness as well.

8. O 1 well equipped and qualified king, may the masters of all
sciences harness thee to the work of administration and mechanical
enterprises, may the expert of the science of velocity, put swiftness in
thy feet. Be thou active like the wind.

Being ever wary, endowed with a religious bent of mind, like a
powerful king, attain to greatness and glory, with splendid royal
accomplishment.

9. O' king, the swiftness laid in thee in secret, resembles the swift-
ness granted to a falcon, and the swiftness found in air. Be thou power-
ful for us, with that swiftness and army. Be thou the winner of battles,
and our saviour through war.

O' nice, brave soldiers, serve your commander, acquire wisdom
and food, win battles, and enjoy fragrant substances.

“foes, military laws, shooting weapons , soldiers, battles, battle-fields, arms, enemies, battle is source of prosperity”

Yajurveda Chapter VII : 37-38

"37. O' Commander of the army, fearless in the extirpation of foes,
thou art accepted as head according to military laws. This exalted
position is a source of inspiration for thee.
I enjoin thee to prepare for war embodying the use of shooting
weapons. I acknowledge thee as exerting utmost for the battle. Be
thou friendly unto all, and lead thy soldiers. Just as the sun, imbibes
the essence of all objects through air, so should'st thou realise the
significance of all objects. Acquire knowledge, and suppress the
opponents of truth and justice. Be victorious in the battle-field. Make
all free from fear everywhere.
38. Thou, head of the state, the conqueror of enemies, the lord of
five classes of subjects under thy sway, and armies, strong in body and soul,
take with thy meals, invigorating herbs, for pleasure and conquest. Fill
thy belly with the sweet flow of well-cooked meals. Thou art the
sovereign of all great deeds and requiring deep thought. Thou hast been
initiated in the rules of administration ; we harness thee for battle involving
the use of arms and weapons. This battle is the source of thy
prosperity ; hence we goad thee to that battle."

Do you realize it mentions armies strong IN body and soul?
This is an internal war. Going to battle to conquer ones own inner enemies.

The texts you adore are the same thing, you may not see because your own 5 classes of subjects(5 senses) have not been conquered and will see such as conquering others physically and not any conquering IN your own body and soul.

Nevertheless, the agenda of portraying other texts as violent may remain.
