My father was wondering if there was a quranic counterpart to this Biblical statement, that all that we do should be to the glory of God?

Hi Mister Emu :)
I hope I understood the meaning of "the glory of God" correctly.
Can this Ayah be close to the verse you posted: "Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allāh, Lord of the worlds." (Al An'am:162)?
The Islamic understanding of worship is comprehensive in the sense that every thing we do (e.g eating, sleeping, exercising, having sex (husband and wife of course), studying, going to job, obeying your parents, playing with your kids...) can be turned into an act of worship if we have the intent to do it for the sake of God only which equals sincerity.

I'm sorry I did not explain further earlier.

In my father's view it says first that everything we do, as you note, should be as an act of worship towards the Lord. A corollary is that it covers how we do things, we are not to worship in a half-hearted manner, but rather attempt to do everything as well as we can.

It governs both the intention, towards God, and the quality of our actions. If we are building a bridge, we make the best bridge we can, if we are mopping the floor, we mop the floor well, if we are cooking, we make the best food we can... writing, eating, it does not matter what the action is.

Thanks for the help ;)

Indeed, the meaning of sincerity includes the quality of work as well. If you do anything for the sake of God, not for the sake of people or anything/anyone else, then you will do in the best form since he is the One who is watching us day and night and knows what is inside our hearts, "And He is Allāh, [the only deity] in the heavens and the earth. He knows your secret and what you make public, and He knows that which you earn." Qur'an
