Sex Slaves /Ma Malakat Aymanuhum in Qur'an

It is widely accepted among sectarian Muslims that slave sex is the part of the Islam and Prophet Muhammad had practiced that . To validate their claim they produce many ahadith and verses from the Qur’an .

In turn it becomes a favorite topic for the Anti-Islamic personnel to uphold to the world that how filthy a man Prophet Muhammad was .They also accused Qur'an to legalized such a barbarian law .

No offense , these guys are 100% right . A true Prophet would never practice such filthy act nor a divine book can canonize this law .

Leaving aside the related ahadith about this issue at this moment , pondering into the verses of the Qur’an only – we find not a single verse which suggests slave-sex . All we found a horrendous misinterpretation of those verses by sectarian Muslim scholars to put those related ahadith align .

The most concerned term in Qur’an related to this misinterpretation or wrong understanding is ماملكت ايمانك (Ma Malakat Aymanukum –MMA) . It means :

Ma= Whom/What
Malakat = Female whom you possess
Aymanukum = With your right hand/authority
.

Hence MMA simply means ‘ Whom your right hands possess’ . The expression itself clarifies that this category of women are somehow dependent to someone's authority , hence have less or zero establishment in the society .

Qur’an has identified two categories of women as MMA :

01. Servants : This category of women are MMA as they are employed by rich people for their domestic services . See verse 24.31 , 33.55, 24.58 for this category .

02. War Asylum : This category of women have fled from their dis-believing husbands who engage in battle with the believing Muslims . Muslim society is responsible to give shelter and provide necessary means to support them . See verse 60.10 for this category .

In whatever categories the MMA may fall under , the crucial question is , are they the free objects to sex as traditionally believed ?

InshALLAH in this thread we will explore this question with the support of verses from Qur'an.

01st Occurrence of MMA in Qur’an – Verse 4.3

[4:3] If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or MMA that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice.
[4:4] You shall give the women their due dowries, equitably. If they willingly forfeit anything, then you may accept it; it is rightfully yours.

In the above verses we can see that MMA should honorably be get married , paying them due dowries . It is needless to say that after the marriage a MMA is regarded the lawful wife for a man and they are legally sex partners to one another .

02nd Occurrence of MMA in Qur’an-Verse 4.23

[004:022] And marry not women whom your fathers married,- except what is past: It was shameful and odious,- an abominable custom indeed.
[004:023] Prohibited to you (For marriage) are:- Your mothers, daughters, sisters; father's sisters, Mother's sisters; brother's daughters, sister's daughters; foster-mothers (Who gave you suck), foster-sisters; your wives' mothers; your step-daughters under your guardianship, born of your wives to whom ye have gone in,- no prohibition if ye have not gone in;- (Those who have been) wives of your sons proceeding from your loins; and two sisters in wedlock at one and the same time, except for what is past; for God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful;-
[004:024] Also (prohibited are) women already married, except MMA: Thus hath God ordained (Prohibitions) against you: Except for these, all others are lawful, provided ye seek (them in marriage) with gifts from your property,- desiring chastity, not lust, seeing that ye derive benefit from them, give them their dowers (at least) as prescribed; but if, after a dower is prescribed, agree Mutually (to vary it), there is no blame on you, and God is All-knowing, All-wise.

Verse 4.24 is the continuity of verse 4.22 which altogether upholding the categories of women whom a person can marry and can not marry . MMA are falling under the woman whom a person can marry . This verse also confirms that MMA are to be taken to wedlock for a person to have relation with them . This verse 4.24 additionally asserts :

“provided ye seek (them in marriage) with gifts from your property,- desiring chastity, not lust,”

The above part of the verse 4.24 debunks all the possibility of having sex with MMA , one and all .

3rd Occurrences of MMA in Qur’an-verse 4.25 :

[004:025] If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed believing girls from among MMA: And God hath full knowledge about your faith. Ye are one from another: Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is reasonable: They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours: when they are taken in wedlock, if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that for free women. This (permission) is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye practise self-restraint. And God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

The third occurrence of MMA also suggests that MMA are restricted by marriage .

After observing the first three occurrences of MMA in Qur’an , we feel suffice to say that any intimate relation with MMA that may mention in other parts of the Qur’an ( e.g., 23.5&70.29) should be understood through the light of these three above verses – MMA are restricted by the condition of marriage.

'Or' and not 'And'
It is very interesting to notice that a man can not marry MMA and other women simultaneously rather they have option to marry MMA or other women who are not MMA . The deliberate use of 'OR' (او) in each and every occurrence related to the issue upholds a single purpose that a person can't marry MMA while he also intends to marry free women . It secures a person's intention to be pure from misusing MMA , avoiding family conflicts and renders a chance to MMA to become an ideal wife and sole minster of her family .

[004:003] And if you fear that you cannot act equitably towards orphans, then marry such women as seem good to you, two and three and four; but if you fear that you will not do justice (between them), then (marry) only one or MMA; this is more proper, that you may not deviate from the right course.

[023:006] Except before their mates or those MMA, for they surely are not blameable,

[070:030] Except in the case of their wives or MMA -- for these surely are not to be blamed,

Hello,
Your interpretation is in fact wrong. I am really sorry to say that because this issue actually is what grind my gears in Quran the most. With all the other messages in Quran i agree more or less.

This verse clearly implies that MMA means slave girl distinguished from FREE woman. Quran condemns slavery in many places but fails to ban it.
I am opened to discussion. I would love to learn that I am wrong and Quran in fact bans slavery,

Hey there - mckenna36 Being wrong can Keep you in the Forum. Disproving peoples ideas and claims sometimes can get You kicked out too. so be careful. But yes. - You are absolutely right. And Islam Also is also a big, huge, huge promoter of sexual Phornication / Adultery * ( By the standards of Abraham,

Moses and Jesus ) Adultery is Biblically definition as Having sex with anyone who is married, And Divorce for no reason, other than just to move the women on to another husband for sex or money is Adultery. *( When there is no Good reason for Divorce / If the Wife Nor Husband has NOT committed Fornication *( in the bible ) there can be no Divorce. But in ISLAM an eternal Adultery life style is common and permitted. And Practiced by Mohammud as well. Islam never has banned adultery, as well..

the normal way of living in Islam. A woman in islam can go through an unlimited amount of Husbands. Can Re- Marry and Re Divorce unlimited amount of times. can return back to her husband 1000 times, after moving through 1000 other partners. / Husbands. As long as all parties agree. In ISLAM. There is no Adultery. Because the 1000 husbands of the woman would have all agreed to permit the next Husband in line to have sex with her, in all 1000 seperate mariage contracts. This is How Islam does with the Bible. they take part of an Idea of the bible and twist it around completly to suit their own pleasure, lifestyle and agenda.in the Bible FEMALE Captives of war are NEVER, NEVER to be sold as slaves or sold at all. never.

Deu 21:10 When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive, Deu 21:11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife;
Deu 21:12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house; and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails;
Deu 21:13 And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and

after that thou go to her as a husband, and her as a wife. Deu 21:14 And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.
