My Poetry

Doc

Space Chief
Early this year, I began writing poetry after a spiritually moving retreat I went on. I first began writing about the environment, then religous poetry, eventually on to social issues, and finally my short lasting teenager crushes on different girls I liked in school.

As you may be able to tell, I have read Tolkien's Novels several times through seeing that much of my poetry was inspired by the Lord of the RIngs! I was also inspired by my school play Godspell in which I got more of a humorous approach to the Gospel! This was my first documented poem and the rest of them are found at...http://www.geocities.com/elflord_brad/My_Poetry.html
Poetry is a great way to express some of your deepest emotion!

Tree Poem
I walk across a stony bridge and over a silent stream
A garbage bag flies through the air; disgusting I would deem
A row of trees enclose the way
They are God’s towers anyway
Their feet in the Earth and heads in the stars
While the polluted air smokes from old cars
The meadow-like path and rivers surrounding
While industrial gas bellows astounding
I walk by some trees and then a strange op’ning
The trees are gone and God must be moping
A once beautiful stream housed many critters
But now bubbles with sewage and other people’s litters
A single bird I spot limping sadly here
Choking on rubber and tied by casing beer
The sky clouds with smoke killing withering flowers
Can the rain come through and bring some clean showers
A tree down the street has just caught fire
A power line had caused it and the tree’s need is dire
Firemen come and douse the red flame
Is Saruman’s industry the one to blame
Breaking, hacking, burning tree
Why won’t the Ents come and set nature free
While nature’s enclosed by the flames of destruction
Will no one stand and stop the construction
