Air Strikes On Iran

Apparently Senator Joe Lieberman (Democrat, I forget which state) recommended today that immediate air strikes should begin on Iran. Do you agree? Why or why not?

No.
We are at war agains two nations already. Adding another will is not likly to be well supported by the global community, and it will destroy troop moral.

The idea is not worth serious consideration. Our forces are already over-extended.

Not likely to start a full scale war with Iran, reason is obvious: USA is out of steam :D

However, the following has already happened, and will most likely be the policy of the next US government, whether Democrat or Republican President:

"Islamic Terrorists" supported by Uncle Sam: Bush Administration "Black Ops" directed against Iran, Lebanon and Syria

by Prof Michel Chossudovsky
Global Research, May 31, 2007

The Bush administration has admitted that covert actions of an aggressive nature were applied against Iran and Syria. The stated objective was to wreck the countries' economies and currency systems. The infamous Iran-Syria Policy and Operations Group (ISOG) created in early 2006, integrated by officials from the White House, the State Department, the CIA and the Treasury Department, had a mandate to destabilize Syria and Iran, and bring about "Regime Change" :

"The committee, the Iran-Syria Policy and Operations Group [ISOG], met weekly throughout much of 2006 to coordinate actions such as curtailing Iran's access to credit and banking institutions, organizing the sale of military equipment to Iran's neighbors and supporting forces that oppose the two regimes." (Boston Globe, 25 May 2007)

ISOG had also been providing undercover assistance to Iranian opposition groups and dissidents. The group's propaganda ploy consisted in feeding disinformation into the news chain and "building international outrage toward Iran". (Boston Globe 2, January 2007)

More Smoke on the Horizon in the Middle East War Theater
by Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya
Global Research, June 3, 2007

America is not the only one present in the region [meaning the Middle East and Central Asia]. We are present, from Khost to Kandahar in Afghanistan. We are present in the Persian Gulf and we can be present in Iraq.”

-Rear-Admiral Ali Shamkhani (August 18, 2004)

The march to war in the Middle East is well underway. Outgoing Prime Minister Tony Blair has said that diplomacy is the best way forward with Iran, but appends his statements by saying that he can not “absolutely predict every set of circumstances,” which means that war can not be ruled out. In this regard, Gordon Brown is no different. [1] The man scheduled to be the next British Prime Minister once Tony Blair steps down (June 27, 2007), has refused to rule out war against Iran and its allies.

The war dossiers against Iran and Syria, the last two bastions of independence in the Middle East, are being built. General Wesley Clark, the former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO in Europe, has confirmed that the White House has been plotting a course based on a major military roadmap in the Middle East, Central Asia, and East Africa that would start in Afghanistan and Iraq and end with Iran. [2] Clark has stated that, after Afghanistan, seven additional nations were on the the Pentagon’s list to be attacked and invaded over a five-year period: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and finally Iran. IF we strike Iran, they will certainly never forgive us for that and we would be setting ourselves up for future retaliations...

Looks like the "nuclear baby will be born" after all, starting tomorrow, if we strike....

Just the beginnings of the final end time global war with nations such as Russia and China getting involved....

They can get at the U.S. by striking Israel, a strategically misplaced, nearly defensless, state...

War between Israel and the nations who are against us and Israel may begin tomorrow and continue on and off until Christ comes, when he will stop all wars...

Although the Bible code is relatively silent until 2010, when things really begin to escalate...

We'll see what decisions are made tomorrow...

I don't think we should make the first strike, that would be an unwise decision on our part..

I just heard, a couple of hours ago some young teenagers singing "Bomb Iran" you know the spoof on the Barbra anne song...

I thought, "they really don't know what they are saying or suggesting by singing that song"..

Hate and ignorance spewed from their mouths...

Too young to understand how devastating and destructive war can be on innocent people living in that area..

Israel is seriously considering this however.

I agree with you. I think this is the second time.:D

Israel is definitely contemplating another "new USS Liberty", to borrow the term of New Pearl Harbour from David Griffin Ray:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6690425.stm

As a 21-year-old third class petty officer, Mr Brummett was serving on board the USS Liberty off the coast of Egypt on 8 June, when, without warning, the vessel came under fire, first from fighter planes, then torpedo boats.

Israel says its forces did not identify the ship as a US vessel
The attack, which lasted at least 40 minutes, resulted in the deaths of 34 of Mr Brummett's fellow crewmen, at least 170 injured and catastrophic damage to the ship.

Alarmingly, the assault had been carried out not by enemy forces, but by the US' closest regional ally, Israel.

Israel insists it mistook the Liberty for a hostile Egyptian ship, the El Quseir, and numerous US and Israeli inquiries (if you trust those inquiries like the 9/11 inquiries, Oklahoma inquiries, JFK inquiries etc etc) have concluded the attack was accidental.

You mean US and Israel are one country, so striking Israel is getting at the US? Striking Germany and France is Okeedokee, and is not getting at the U.S.? Israel now officially the 53rd or 54th or 55th state of USA? I must be out of touch with modern history.

Victory attained by violence is tantamount to a defeat, for it is momentary.

Are you thinking of Mahatma Gandhi when you said Iran will never forgive US?:p
