I agree. I don't use it haphazardly. But I do try to for appropriate circumstances. And being of "a certain age," I'm quite happy not being addressed in that manner on all occasions. LOL But I truly, truly feel the recognition when used as, IMO, intended.
It is "honor," not "love." And, IMO, this directive is in reference to your heredity, your culture, your community, your elders in general more so than just the two who conceived your physical vessel. It is quite common culturally to call people of no direct bloodline, but who are revered...
I'd like to think he's finally gone too far, but unfortunately he keeps getting away with this sort of thing.
I read that he has one of various GOP "team players" in the courtroom every day. Perhaps they'll take the blame for encouraging this sly-as-a-FOX maneuver.
Agreed, but outside of the money-changers tables, Jesus was a quiet preacher that did not cause a stir among the people, but rather spoke of calming patience. However, JtB was a rabble-rouser. He was loud, demanding REPENT, REPENT. I take it Jesus did not respond to the news of JtB's...
These would have been the children left behind to die in the elements -- the demon possessed, the changlings, etc. It would be impossible to find documentation on a condtion, among many, not recognized as being medical. Even anthrax, dysentery, TB, dwarfism, etc., etc., are not "documented"...
"The Jews" didn't have him killed. The Jewish politicians wanted him arrested, yes, but Rome didn't have to go along. It was a political play between political leaders with Jesus the chosen pawn, probably having a lot to do with his relationship to JtB.
I never said Satan would be destroyed. He is God's Prodigal Son. His mission will take the longest. He is destined to see that we all learn to be worthy of heaven. And IMO, he will not fail, just as Jesus did not fail in proving we can do it, and giving us The Way.
The meaning of life is to be truthful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to make a positive mark in the forward progression of humankind. Science can't prove this, but mankind can.
Whoa. Didn't mean to raise your blood pressure.
Okay, perhaps a demigod, like Jesus, but with a different mission. A divine being of lesser status than the Father, but higher than angels. Jesus the firstborn of the dead, the first to be fully tested and to prove mankind can conquer the world...
Not necessarily, at least not the original Gospel. The Gospels of Mark and Matthew were the original sermon points of the New Jewish Christian movement led by James the Just. The author, true, is not believed to be the Apostle Matthew, but a follower of his ministry many decades later. The same...
A "Red-letter Christian" means they put little to no authority to the words of Paul. They take the name from the Bible publications that put the words of Jesus in red font.
IMO, he most truly earned his anointing, therefore the title of Christ upon his baptism.
Totally agree.
In my view, Jesus...
I heard a news report this morning on the radio that Bibi said he would continue with fingernails if necessary.
I don't see that as coming from a sound mind.
They did not know wrong until after they ate. Eve didn't know of consequences when the Serpent offered her "the candy," and Adam didn't know it was wrong when Eve made the offer. They discovered "consequences" when they had to leave Paradise clothed in "skins," aka, taking a physical form, and...
And I find that is the beauty of Judaism -- God challenges us to discover His will and in the process we help each other with kindness and love, growing closer to Him as we learn the consequences of our choices.
Jesus was a Jew and he debated with the Pharisees constantly. They didn't consider...
An androgynous spirit -- but traditionally referred to as Him, in that the creation story presents the male half of humankind first. And, to be real, historically men have been deemed superior, though God has not made such a distinction when you view His creation as a whole.
The Byzantine translation is only of the New Testament's Greek. It does not affect the translation of Hebrew from the Tanaka into the Old Testament. It also does not take anything away from the Alexderian translation. If fact, it adds to it, in an attempt to give the four Gospels more cohesion.
