If the intent of Hamas was to turn the world against Israel, has it succeeded?

UN human rights body calls for halt to weapons shipments to Israel as concerns about Gaza war mount
UN rights council accuses Israel of war crimes against Palestinians

China, South Africa, Brazil, and several other countries in Latin America all went from viewing Israel positively to negatively. And many rich countries that already had net negative views of Israel—including Japan, South Korea, and the U.K.—saw steep declines. Net favorability in Japan went from -39.9 to -62.0; in South Korea from-5.5 to -47.8; and in the U.K. from -17.1 to -29.8.
New Polling Shows How Much Global Support Israel Has Lost

In one BBC poll of 22 countries, Israel was the fourth-most-disliked nation, behind only Iran, Pakistan, and North Korea.
How does the world feel about Israel/Palestine?

According to the third link (from Time), the U.S. still has a net positive view of Israel, but there's also a cost in that it triggers a negative view of America:

The U.S. remains the only rich country that still had net positive views of Israel. Net favorability dropped just 2.2 percentage points, from a net favorability of 18.2 to a net favorability of 16 from September to December.

Washington's support for Israel carries a cost in global public opinion, however, particularly in Arab countries, the surveys show. In Egypt, the U.S. went from having a positive favorability of 41.1 to a negative favorability of -14.9 from September to December. In Saudi Arabia, the U.S. saw a similar trend, dropping from a positive favorability of 12.2 to -10.5 over the same time period.

In some UN resolutions involving Israel, the U.S. has had to use its veto power on more than one occasion. In that sense, continued U.S. support for Israel is essential, even if the rest of the world hates them.

It floors me as to how many people now are openly antisemitic and siding with terror organizations and groups painting them as harmless misunderstood puppy dogs.

Most people that support the palestinians and Hammas don't understand they would kill them if they had the chance. 75% of Palestinians supported the Oct 7th attack. If Israel had no weapons it would be destroyed immediately by Hammas and the Palestinians would support that. This is why Israel has to win and put an end to Hammas for good.

Hamas has strong ties to Iran. Iran has a larger military force however with US support for Israel would still likely lose in a head to head confrontation.

I wonder if Iran sees Palestine as a necessary sacrifice to limit international support for Israel. There has already been retaliation threats from Iran.

I doubt that was their intent. I don't think anyone would have predicted the sequence of events that actually followed the October 7th terror attack and expect the aim was just more of the same violence and kidnapping to try to force Israel in to releasing Palestinian prisoners and push back against illegal settlers (the former being exactly what initially happened of course). I'm not sure it's the kind of conflict where either side has any kind of definitive long-term aims (just vague hopes and dreams), they just hate each other because that's what they've always done.

Regardless, I'd suggest that nobody wins in any war, but some people loose more than others (sadly, often those who had little or nothing to do with the war in the first place).

Israel should buy Alaska from the US and relocate there. Clinging on to a godforsaken piece of desert due to religious convictions and continuing to kill their savage native population in futile wars after wars is idiotic in the extreme. US, Europe are waning global powers, and by the end of the 21st century I do not see how Israel can survive in a region filled with hostile, powerful, Islamic nation states, many of which would have nuclear arsenals by then.
Israel will likely to have the same ephemeral fate as the Christian states in the holy land during the crusades.

Interesting thoughts. It is a scary situation.

Problem is their religious books keep them locked in that area.

If 33,000 dead and their country essentially flattened in many places is a win I'd hate to see what a loss would mean for them.

They've certainly lost the moral war, ruined their PR image for generations and created countless new anti-Zionists.

And they're not "savages", either, unless you want to own up to your bit of racism here?
Anti-Muslim bias which involves focusing only on violence and Quran passages taken out of context.

Why not ask about the cause of their attitudes.

I'm guessing none of you people have ever actually met a Palestinian. Makes it a lot easier to spew dehumanizing nonsense online.

Like every other group, most just want to live their lives with some prosperity and hope for the future. I can't say I've specifically met Muslim Palestinians (there are also Christians), but the Muslims I've met have been very ordinary by any Western standard.

Palestinians are an ethnic group, not a religious group. They can be of any religion or none. So calling them "savages" is more a case of racism.
