I do not answer blocked or private or unknown calls.
I respect their privacy and do not answer.

I do not answer numbers I do not recognize.

I have a rather practical rule of thumb, if you do not leave a message, it is not important enough for me call back.

There are exceptions.
Expecting a call from someone or some company..

I really miss a feature of my old phone that automatically sent unknown callers to voicemail.
Phone did not even ring.
Unless they left a voicemail.

I also miss visual voicemail....

Mine has a feature where I can actually read the voicemail as they're leaving it.

libre

Skylark
Mid to late 20s.

Occasionally take calls hesitantly, not for any particular aversion to calls, but because the commons of the telephone has been destroyed by scammers and spammers.

On my oldest number I get some 5-25 spam texts and 3-5 calls a day, likely because i put my number in some apps that sold it to databrokers over the last decade. Never putting my phone number in a computer again!

It occurred to me that I did not address the outgoing part of your question.

I make calls when I need to.
Doctors office, wife, 911, etc.

I leave a message every time.
Well, unless there is no message leaving available, I.E. no space left messages.

Always unless looking spammy (which is often if the caller is not in my contact list or does not display a good name).

I also communicate via zoom, whatsapp and texting.
