Very recently, what appears to be the largest single cast Nataraja was consecrated.

I've been to Swamimalai and seen the process first hand, but it was for much smaller murthis. To do this would be amazing. The detail put into the wax, the molding, and then the actual pour itself ... some 5 tons. It must have taken them awhile, unless they've incorporated the use of machines these days.
