What do you think of Elena Risteska's duet with Regina? Regina is a famous band from Bosnia, and Elena Risteska is a famous songstress from Macedonia. In this song she sings in Bosnian, very well too!

I love how it turns into a rock/dance song after the first verse/chorus. It's called Ljubav nije za nas (Love is not for us)

Ah dear Selma! Hahahahha
I love her voice! This song isn't that great, but nothing can really compare to "Kakvo Tijelo Selma ima", and "Tijelo uz Tijelo".. which were both smash hits in the Serb Diaspora this past year... I can't post any videos yet - don't have enough posts, but I have some truley great ones!

I also enjoy Elena! It's strange to hear her sing in Bosnian though, I'm se used to her Macedonian.. but I notice Tose also sings in the Ijekavik dialect, why is that?

Because Croats have more money than the rest of us combined. lol

For a Macedonian artist to adopt our language is like a Spanish artist switching over to English in America. It's just a ploy for money. The main market is in in the Serbian-Bosnian-Croatian language.

Now if you're going to choose which dialect, you'd probably pick ijekavian because it's spoken in Croatia and Bosnia, both of which are economically better off than Serbia.

It's like if you had a poor person speaking English, and a rich person speaking French, which language would you sing with your hat out for money on the floor? lol

I really think it's that simple. You notice they speak ijekavian but they don't use any of the hardcore Croatian words that none of Bosnians use. They keep it pretty generic.

Oh, I understand.... but still strange to me.. Hahahhaha

One thing that ticks me off is how our artists have changed their accents since the war. For example Seka Aleksic, is a Bosnian (Muslim Mother, Orthodox father) who grew up in Zvornik, and at the start of the war moved to Serbia, and Boom - Seka has a Ekavian accent?... The same is with countless Bosnian Orthodox artists - Mile Kitic, MIlos Bojanic, Inidra Radic, Sanja Djordjevic etc. etc.. Lepa Brena (Bosnian Muslim) has always spoken with an Ekavian accent.. I also noticed Semsa Suljakovic has gone back to Ijekavian form the Ekavian accent she used prior to the war.. Then we go to Emina Jahovic (Serbian muslim) - who overnight developed a Bosnian accent... It's all so strange to me!

She told it from a Greek, Kaiti Garbos, but it's nice - and she's Muslim so I have to like it.

Good post!

Hey Yugo, what you think of Selma Mujahideen's latest? :D

http://youtube.com/watch?v=SKrDh6HiCGE

I love her to bits. I still can't believe she was the little girl playing violin for Dino back in 1999:

She's changed a lot yes?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=5zkOcgVYui8

She's cute! :)

I remember her "moje Saraj'vo" song, which was very nice... but nothing can compare to my favourite Bosniak - DONNA ARES! :)

She even makes this sound GOOD!

You just like Donna Ares because she's the only ugly Bosnian Muslim woman who's famous. lol She's your safety net... "Oh Draka, Ljumila, Jelena... they all turned me down! But at least I'm not with Donna Ares!"

Oh God, I just checked the Donna Ares song you posted. LOL Kceri moja?

Since I learned English, I really don't like kceri anymore. Why does unmarried girl have to sound so much like "cherry"? lol I'm always paranoid that's where it comes, virgin girl. lol

And besides, singing kceri moja sounds like incest. lol And a man that old singing it? Even if it didn't sound like incest, it'd still be bad.
