Yes, "favorite war" isn't a good way to put it.
However, If for work or school, you had to watch a 20 hour series of documentaries about one war in History, what would it be?

I'd choose World war 1 because I like the footage on trench warfare, no man's land, the look of their planes, tanks, uniforms, weapons, and film that had just barely come into existence (and their use of gas and gas masks).

The great war is also interesting to study because it doesn't even make sense to me why such a bloodbath even took place. All the reasons for that "great war" seem quite nonsensical. Also, it's a war where I cannot determine who the "good guys" and the "bad guys" were. So, I find it more interesting than other wars.

First Gulf War. Unlike most wars, it had very specific and limited material objectives. The military side was expertly planned and executed, satisfying the stated objectives, and the war was over a lot faster than most wars.

@PopeADope , World War I was fought by the great powers of Europe for political reasons -- The Allies, particularly England and France, were mainly afraid of German expansionism, while the Germans thought English (and, again, to a lesser extent the French) hegemony intolerable and strived for colonies and world influence of their own. These powers had been aching to go to war for some time; the opportunity only arrived when Austria declared war on Serbia, bringing the chain of alliances into the fight.

There were wars without casualties. Like when UK declared war on my country despite not wanting to attack us at all, the allies were just trying to please Soviet Union.
