Let's approach this slowly. No, i cannot. Please answer.
Yes.Let's approach this slowly.
1. Do you have much understanding of early childhood psychology?
That is a very vague question. Yes and no.2. Do you have an appreciation for the power of myth?
Given that you answered Yes to question one, I have no further need to make an explanation as you should already clearly understand the dynamics involved.Yes.
That is a very vague question. Yes and no.
Why would that make any difference? You believe that santa existing is an honestly held belief of the parent?
My understanding of the dynamics involved, should give you pause. Either you can or cannot explain and justify your perspective.Given that you answered Yes to question one, I have no further need to make an explanation as you should already clearly understand the dynamics involved.
I welcome them.I'd leave question 2 for more qualified types like @Vouthon and @Windwalker to explain the importance of myth, as its not really my thing.
Or won't to an obtuse troll. My understanding of the dynamics involved, should give you pause. Either you can or cannot explain and justify your perspective.
I welcome them.
Because that is the distinction between sincere religious belief of a parent. That is the difference between god and santa with respect to a third party informing a child about their existence. Why would that make any difference?

Challenging belief is not trolling.Or won't to an obtuse troll.
Well beyond speculation, we still use that standard when defining religious belief. It is that standard which prevents this from being a religious issue.I am not so sure of that. I think that many parents raise their children in a religion because they think. It is good for them.
Do you ever stop to appreciate context? Doing so would help to cease your silly questions.Challenging belief is not trolling.
If you assert you can, but simply won't then there is little left to discuss.
Cheers
How have I shown a lack of appreciation for context?Do you ever stop to appreciate context? Doing so would help to cease your silly questions.
I think the teacher may have grounds to complain about the reason for dismissal being unfair. It's not an announcement that should have affected her livelihood. I think it grossly underestimates the intelligence of six-year old kids, too, to separate "once upon a time" from something real. I laughed at this part:
The principal had written to parents so they would be "aware of the situation" and able to "take appropriate steps to maintain the childhood innocence of the holiday season" at home. It's more about the parents' sensibilities than it is about the kids.
