I sat then: silently, passive, peaceful,
In my Breath there was power
In my Breath there was life
On the walls of my eyes
I dreamed dreams
Strange to those who understood them not
Beautiful images flooded my consciousness
Warm blood my veins
I saw the Swan on the clear blue lake
The Horse running on the plains
The Tiger kittens playing
And the spring in their Mother's step
I saw the Art of Man
His paintings, his shapes,
I traced his movements in endless patterns
Movements of a slow dance yielding great Power
On the floor I perceived all
The world Below, Here, and Above
I saw the Beauty of many things
But more beautiful than all
Was you, Daughter of the Rivers, the Wood, and the Moon
I was struck dumb, and was overcome
Your reached out your hand to touch my heart
And you crushed it.

I sit now
My peace broken
My dreams are nightmares
My movements wooden
My thoughts and visions clouded
Out of my eyes run my tears
Out of my wrists, my blood.

our lives mine life's deepest dreaming
diamonds deep in lifeless seeming
a rock that spins with life thereon
we call the great automaton

dizzy horses prance spinning there
circling tigers unaware
never noticing that the moon
is brightest in the month of June

around fires we all huddle
spears at ready heads befuddled
eyes about us glow unsightly
but the dawn relieves us nightly

the coiled serpent cannot know
the warmth of blood and cold of snow
but you and I enjoy a glass
of sun and life & feel time's pass
