No. We'd still have other ways to screw each other over, nationalism, racism, partisanship, etc.

Religion isn't always to blame.

I don't blame religion for anything. Everything that has happened or happens would happen without religion.
The only difference would be people would have to lay blame and argue about something else.
However there are religious groups such as St Jude's that do wonders for people.
Without religion would others step up and do the same?

I don't know. Maybe. Religious groups have historically been the first to operate charities and the like. And even though psychology/psychiatry are really great, religions were often there first to console and comfort.

If people want to get rid of religion because they think is bad, but yet it also does things that are actually good, unless they come up with a replacement, you lose the bad and the good. Sometimes the good out-weighs the bad and vise-versa.

I never said that. Putting hope in something that has no good reason to believe in it is not real hope. When you discover there is not a good reason to believe in God then the hope turns to emotional trauma.

Most all religious people have hope. Getting rid of religion gets rid of their hope.

I agree. They should not do that.

Good point. No one should believe their husband, wife or kid is the best.
Evidence would suggest otherwise. There is always someone that has it better.
Why should anyone believe their children will grow up to be great? Until they are grown, there is no evidence to prove they will. Right?

The people dead set against religion have muddled perspective.

Look at the 20th century. Communism, fascism, nationalism, socialism, capitalism. They did more to bring destruction and despair to the world than all religions combined historically.

Having a religion myself, it looks like it would be better to rid the world of secularism. Having the religion I have myself, I know better.

All you need is love.
Putting hope in something that has no good reason to believe in it is not real hope. When you discover there is not a good reason to believe in God then the hope turns to emotional trauma.

Speaking as someone who survived years of severe abuse and neglect as a child, I can affirm with complete confidence that you are absolutely correct about the emotional trauma stemming from having a false hope in God. I frantically prayed to God when I was a child, asking him to save me from my adopted mother and older brother, who were abusing me, but God ignored all of my prayers.

I suffered abuse and neglect for 13 1/2 years while I was growing up, and I endured 12 years of constant bullying and harassment in school. I suffered abuse at home until a few days after I turned 18. It was then that I finally found the courage in my heart to stand up to my abusers and save myself. Despite all the prayers I prayed to God when I was a child, he didn't protect me and save me. As far as I'm concerned, God is no different from all the people in my life who turned a blind eye to me being abused, neglected, and bullied.
