Hmmm, I very much doubt Amsterdam is in the top 4 safest cities in Holland, never mind the world.

Seeing as they only looked at 60 cities in the world though, seems pretty meaningless.

Although it does remind me one poster here was adamantly arguing that Amsterdam was an out of control, crime-ridden, murderous narco-state a few weeks ago :D

You beat me to that comment, there are many of those that I'd be very wary after dark.

Agreed here. With only 60 in the entire mix, there is absolutely no way they got enough of a representative sample to make these claims' reach "in the world" status. That single point is enough for me to be of the opinion that the entire endeavor here is farcical.

My first thought was how did Chicago make that list, so I googled it apparently a lot of people think Chicago is bad, Here's what I found. The ten most dangerous cities in the US.

I speculate that Chicago has many gun deaths, so it makes the news.
But It's also a very large city, so the overall danger rate could be lower
than news media would have us perceive it. Agenda is possibly at work.

And danger in this case is very broadly drawn. The broad health measure includes these: Air quality (PM 2.5 levels)• Water quality• Life expectancy years• Infant mortality• Cancer mortality rate• No. of biological, chemical, radiological weapons attacks• Emergency services in the city

I live near Chi-town, I know how to be safe around there by staying away from where the dark hoodies live. Also, having mob protection there helps some people avoid danger.

Huh... almost all of the U.S. cities on there are renown for their gang ridden ghettos.

Keep in mind they are just safe compared to other major cities. They are not "safe cities".

Yes, that's the only way it could be correct.

I wondered about this also. Whether they did some sort of "filtering" to get their base of 60 cities. Like a certain population, or population density is what qualified a city into the research. A base of 60 just seems way too small for a worldwide comparison though, no matter how one might slice it.
