Women's Sports Clothing

My feelings exactly. If the Germans want what they perceive to be a more modest uniform that is their business. And the same if a team goes the other direction. The only way to be in the wrong is to try impose one's own taste and "morals" upon others.

By the way I also support Muslim women that opt for veils or whatever other clothing they find necessary.

I think we're broadly aligned, but I wouldn't quite go as far as you.
Given that the Olympics are a combined event, some small nod to commonly held morals make sense. For example, no matter my own opinion, I wouldn't find it appropriate for women to compete with bare breasts in 2021.

And I struggle with the combined values of individual choice (in terms of dress, for example), versus subtle coercion or patriarchy.
If a person has been brainwashed since birth to consider wearing a hair suit is the only true way to show deference to God, we might not be surprised when said person wears a hair suit. Does it matter? Is the 'cure' worse than the 'illness'? Meh...dunno. It's honestly an area I find somewhat confusing to reach a position on.

All should be spared the sight of me in tight skimpy clothing.

But dammit, I like bare breasts.

Okay you do have a point there. One does not want to go too far out of the norm. I posted earlier about a French girls, and since they were under 18 they were girls gymnastics teams that used clear stripper moves at warmup competition. That was pushing it too far in my book and I guess that someone from the IOC stepped on them hard. Those moves were not seen again. Now I do not mind a bit of sexuality in free skating competitions with adults, but I felt that I was watching something leading to kiddie porn. So even my "free thought" has a limit.

I've always thought it odd that female athletes, eg, gymnastics, beach
volleyball wear such skimpy outfits. I'm not complaining, mind you.
But why such revealing garb so prone to entertaining malfunction?
Why would they want this?

Now I hear in the news that some are moving towards
less revealing clothing...hopefully more comfortable too.
Is This the End of the Gymnastics Leotard?

It's still perhaps TMI, but it's an improvement....

Men have better choices IMO....

A bold statement against sexualization would be for women athletes to give the finger to anyone who sexualizes them in their workout wear to begin with. Comfort, practicality and choice, in my opinion, should take precedence.

Long time no see.
About time that they seized the reins then, eh.

Paul doesn't wear suits unless he has to. Last time he went to be measured (some 10 years ago) his tailor told him his chest had dropped
That is another kind way to put it. My appearance is not that bad since I have kept my abs fairly fit. But the scale does not lie. I would like to lose at least thirty pounds and ideally forty.

Let's face it....neither of us should be wearing
tight skimpy women's sportswear.
