If I grab anything, it's with prior approval.

It's interesting that one of my very best friends is a straight man, father of 2, who from the first moment we met knew that I found him incredibly attractive. This is not a secret between us, but neither is the fact that he is not interested in what I have to offer (and lust for), and I am polite enough to pretend (mostly) doesn't exist.

No matter what you might wish from anyone, the most you can legitimately aspire to is what they freely give. And thus we remain really good friends, and his son (my favourite kid in the world) of almost 6 loves me, too. This is so good...

I too have been the cause of unrequited lust (in my younger Adonis-like days).
The others have always handled it respectfully.
Nowadays, I just cause unrequited desire to get out of the way of faster drivers.

I'm not going to wear a burlap sack out in public and deny myself creature comforts that make me feel and smell good, because there are men who can't control themselves.

If a man finds something attractive about me and gets a tingle in his dingle...more power to him. There's nothing wrong with being turned on by beauty. Sane, respectful men are able to enjoy the view without being predatory creeps.

It's a two way street. I'm not going to dress down just because women find me irresistible when I dress a certain way. I don't expect them to, either. A modicum of self control is not an unreasonable ask in a civil society.

There is much culture pushing women to act and dress and wear things a certain way. There are jobs where women are required to wear makeup every day, to wear heels every day, or others. A friend of mine once worked for a dentist who required a full face of makeup every day, and a full set of acrylic nails while women were dental assisting for him. This, in spite of the fact that acrylic nails are super dangerous for the dental assistant because bacteria and contaminants can’t be properly cleaned from the nail bed with them. Women who don’t wear makeup get told to stop being “lazy.”

Here’s an article about trying to make it illegal in the UK to force women to wear high heels to work.

Here’s an article on pressure to wear makeup at work:

Here’s another article from the UK where 2/3 of bosses admit they would discriminate against women looking for a job who don’t wear makeup.

Here’s an article on how according to the Supreme Court, employers can require you to wear makeup. The actual case went further, where the boss told the employee she had to:
“walk more femininely, talk more femininely, dress more femininely, wear make-up, have her hair styled, and wear jewelry."

Here’s an article on how Donald Trump told people to fire women who weren’t pretty enough:
    http://www.latimes.com/projects/la-na-pol-trump-women/

Here’s an article on how 49 states allow employers to fire someone because of their weight. Including covering cases where they weren’t allowed to gain more than 7% of their starting weight, some that had mandatory weigh-ins, or were told to take laxatives.
    https://www.google.com/amp/amp.timeinc.net/time/4883176/weight-discrimination-workplace-laws

Of course, after all that, it’s also legal to fire someone because they are too pretty.
