"Do wealthier people owe their financial success to skill or luck? Your views on this question may be set by your own financial status, at least according to a study of people playing a card game.

In a simplified two-player version of the game known as “President” (or less politely, “*******”) winners were more likely than losers to credit their success to skill rather than luck – even though the game clearly involved little skill and when the odds were blatantly rigged in the winner’s favour.

“It was absolutely obvious one of the players was playing with a huge advantage,” says Mauricio Bucca of the European University Institute in Florence, Italy."

Who would have thought that people could be so biased ?

Same happens when a YouTube person becomes a star and catches momentum. They think it's skill.

Who would have thought that people could be so biased ?

Usually if they have zero bias they kill them. Then a religion forms up and bias develop internally till people are convinced internally and externally they are debating makes any sense in context to reality . Hell RF WOULDNT EXIST EXCEPT FOR THAT! Thus flexilogic the new logic of tomorrow!

I'm quoting that and making it into a picture to hang on my wall. Too much reality in one post.

Mostly genetics lotto. There are just enough people with each particular and diverse skill set in their programming to keep the world functioning and running smoothly. For instance... not everyone has ‘mechanic’ in their ability program. Imagine a world with people who only are ‘mechanical’ in their skill set.
The higher up the totem pole, and the better the determined programmed skill set, the more use they are to keep the factory functioning...the more material rewards.
Not everyone just will say, ‘I want to be a doctor,’ It’s just not in most people nor will it ever be.

Talents are mostly determined genetics lotto.
Yet to me, it’s not the lotto at all.

For many that don’t yet know their abilities/capabilities, or career....it will be latent genetics waiting to be revealed.

Unless of course, one wakes up to this earlier rather than later and screws off some determined programming and becomes more autonomous.

Only bias I see is they didn't say anything about a control. How did people rank themselves in a fair game with no advantages for the previous winner/loser? You can't base it off rigged games like that and expect a truthful result.

Most of the wealthy I know are
extremely hard working. The few who are
    not tend to be widows.

This "did not earn" is a preamble to,
"So we are morally bound to confiscate it."

Nope. Other things do. He must be living in yours 24/7 though. Do you ****ing know what a comment is? Do I have to explain what commenting means to you? In which language and what grade level will I have to ****ing explain this? I guessing I am going to have to spell very slowly at a 3rd grade level for you to understand what comments are about

Reminds me of a study I read years ago that was basically the same set up and same results, but using Monopoly instead. They even noticed those slated to win even started to act cocky and arrogant.

It’s fair to judge after oneself has been judged... and I agree with your judgement in that.

Probably not, but he likes to play the edge, and define his who is in and who is out on his terms as he does in the USA.

I think it's more of an ego thing. No one wants to admit to luck. There may be some skill involved, especially with the confidence games and swindling schemes which happen.

QUOTE="Audie, post: 6213041, member: 63733"]Most of the wealthy I know are

    Agreed.
However, most of the low-paid workers I know are also very hard working; often harder working than the wealthy, because their continued employment (in either of their two jobs) is often precarious, while the wealthy have a single and secure position, with built-in paid vacation, generous sick leave and retirement packages.

This "did not earn" is a preamble to,
"So we are morally bound to confiscate it."[/QOTE]
Nobody has said that, or suggested it....and you know that.
Even the most lefty looney liberal moonbats simply want to “level the playing field”, NOT by confiscating (stealing) money from the rich, but rather by setting salaries such that the hard-working poor become hard-working lower-to-middle class; and the hard working rich are just that. Rich. Not “ungodly wealthy beyond even unreasonable fantasies of avarice”.
Also they would like the uber-rich to pay an equivalent level of taxes as the middle-class (which the ultra-rich do not currently pay). And you are aware of that too (or you admit that you had been ignorant of reality until now). ;)

Beyond that, one can see a path to your “wealth confiscation “....and it ain’t pretty.
Beware, fellow plutocrats, the pitchforks are coming
