Assuming humanity is live and well will there be Christians still around ten thousand years from now? Why or why not?

I doubt it. By then we'll have pushed Jehovah from the Cosmos and have evicted him from the universe, leaving him no were to hide and be randomly inserted into by Christian.

Why should we hope for that? It has absolutely no impact on our lives.

Will there be a human species in 10, 000 years? Not convinced.

There will most likely be another massive religion in ten thousand years to take the place of Christianity.

I don't know about 10,000 years. But I'm fairly certain it will still be around in 500 years...

Will there be Christians in ten thousand years?

I think not. We will have evolved to a more pantheistic understanding of reality that recognizes the interconnectedness of all things and consciousness.

It think religion as a force as we've known it throughout recorded history is becoming a spent force. I expect we will still revere Jesus but the religion of Christianity will be gone as will be all religion as an external structure with rules and mandatory beliefs.

Kill the time frame and replace Christianity with your choice of past major religions, just history repeating itself.

What ten thousand year old religion currently exists? What two thousand year old religion?

Religions rise and fall. Unlike science, which describes eternal verities, religion reflects the Zeitgeist of a particular, historical time and place. They may, with political support, be modified over time, but they tend to fade with their historical context and cultural foundations.

"Assuming humanity is live and well..." is also a pretty optimistic assumption, IMHO.

Yes, although there will be fewer, I do believe the ones that remain will be even more fanatic because they will view themselves as the "remnant."

The Norse are quite alive and well and the statues of their gods still stand. Even the Aztecs and Hellenists exist as remnants. So what's your point?

I'm not entirely sure why, but that strikes me as an intriguing question.
