Will the art of thought ever go out of fashion?

I think that for quite a few people it has already disappeared. It seems all many can do is open a book and quote it, thus eliminating all independent thought. Fortunately a few people can still think.

It comes and goes. Wars are a major problem, because many fathers are killed. When fathers are killed so is philosophy.

Did philosophy die after giving birth to science?

Please

One may like to read post #1 in another sub-forum, which references an article at www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/google/8520033/Stephen-Hawking-tells-Google-philosophy-is-dead.html and first comments made on the article by Deirdre Kohler , please.
I suppose that depends upon what you consider "thought".

Seems to me that philosophy will never die so long as there is religion.
Since science does not support much of religion, theists turn to philosophy to justify their faith.

.

Of course not! Science requires deep thought concerning how the universe works and the nature of reality.

But it is certainly the case that many religions attempt to denigrate thought and scientific investigation. We may hope such religions will die out over time.

The truthful Religion has no such notion. Please

Simply wrong.
Science works in a limited aspect of human life and cannot and never contradict with the lasting teachings of the truthful Religion. Please

It is one of the faculties of human beings that one is many a times or sometimes or always is thinking. The verb "think" as mentioned in the previous sentence, its noun is thought. Right? Please
