Why Would Christians Worship a God Who Clearly Wouldn't Lift A Finger For Them?

Ah so desu ka. That plan for utopia.

When you invade a city, kill everyone except the girls.
Then -
Check them for virginity, kill them if they don't
pass inspection.

No. Not utopian. But the next stage in our social evolution judging by history.

Family, tribe, state, city-state, nation - next is world civilisation. World communications and scientific progress has made it not only possible but inevitable.

The "bible" is a blueprint for things like what i
mentioned. You are right, its far from utopia.

Science has progressed despite not because of Christianity.

Claiming the Bible did a blueprint for science
Is too ridiculous.

There's a reason for the great emphasis on faith.
Yep.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

There is help at hand from God if we choose to use it.

God never abandons us but expects us to meet Him halfway and to make an effort.
But what if we make an effort, over and over and over again, and are still left standing at the side of the road?
That is not called a test, that is called abandonment.
Ever had that happen to you?

Ha. That is an example of how the Bible
keeps telling you you gotta have it.

But why? "Plesse" god ?

Fact is, there is zero evidence showing that or
any other God exists.

So whats to do, if the goal is to get believers?

Make faith in the invisible a highest virtue!

Once a person has been scammed its very hard for them to admit it themselves.

It sure will if he tries " hey hey God, gimme a hand, I am, drowning."

I wish a Christian would turn that one up. That'd convert everybody.
God is standing at the side of the road waiting for the scientists to make new discoveries.
That will make everyone realize that religion cannot take the place of science, we need both.

Look at what scientists did to develop those new vaccines for Covid-19 and how fast they did it.
Smart people don't sit around waiting for God to do things.

Because God wants us to please Him.

There is evidence, just no proof.

No, God does not need any believers because God is fully self-sufficient and fully self-sustaining.
God has no needs... but He has wants.
God wants us to believe and we are supposed to believe for our own benefit.

like I said, once scammed, its hard to get away.

Evidence?
As I've quoted Mark Twain, " for a miracle, any
sort of evidence will serve"

Don't you suppose others have as much and as good evidence for their gods?

Guess you figure that of the thousands of
religions and gods you were lucky enough tp
somehow get the right one?

God beats people (believers call that tests) until they finally give up fighting and say "Okay God you win."
It never even occurs to these believers to ask why an omni-everything God needs to win.
It just makes no sense, but they BELIEVE it anyway because it is written in their scriptures.

Not everyone has good evidence for God, and nobody has any evidence for gods because multiple gods don't exist.

Well, we agree that nobody has good evidence.

A also agree that multiple gods don't exist,
though the evidence for them us just as
bad as it is for the one-god.

Unfortunately, I believe that there is good evidence....
Otherwise I would have jumped ship long ago, because I don't like having to love this God.

Thats fine. I guess we'd have a lot different
ideas about what constitutes evidence.

I think this is an interesting topic worth discussing.

Really who do you consider first humans?

H erectus, something earlier?

The predstor thing is worth looking at.

Disease, not so much as the same reasons applies to all living things that exist.

Primates may have a bit of advantage, with hands to treat some injuries, like pulling out stickers.

People are not well armed except with brains.
Clearly we did survive predation.

Q is how.

Yes, but how did we survive? Another question; woman didn't just start ovulating and then giving birth. It had to evolve. That might have taken a million years. What were we doing in the meantime to produce progeny, splitting in two like a cell?

There was a reason, but I do not think it was all due to luck.
Lots of it is due to fate, but that's a big subject.
