It is true that most Christians assume that because they believe in Jesus and have asked for forgiveness they are automatically saved. However the Bible their own spiritual guide has much more to say about the art of getting through the pearly gates.

Most Christians overlook the doctrine that outlines Christianity because it is far to difficult to be better than the Pharisees or do the will of the father, and that leaves very few capable of being granted eternal life.

Entering Heaven is like entering a society. There are rules or regulations which specify what you need in order to enter therein. Even satanic societies will not admit just anyone, they must abide by the rules specified. If you know what it takes to enter Heaven you will get in. If you do not know, you will remain outside.

Of course Heaven is made of several levels or degrees, so everyone will eventually get in, the only question will be at which level or degree will you enter, the highest, middle or the lowest?

How compelling, I must say that my years of studying the New Testement have not yet granted me the full detail of what I wish to know, However what I do know and of course, Matthew, Mark , Luke, an John are my favorite I am quite historically educated.
From what I gather the pharisees were conservative politicians and religious teachers, much like the ones who preach in our churches today or run our governments.

Well... I believe conservatives today seem to have forgotten that mercy should triumph over judgement as they fight fire with fire with political incorrectness against secular humanist who reflect fundemental Christian values without the advantage of claiming faith in the god-in-a-box bible thumping gun toting mentality. It amazes me what some folks can justify and omit in good human behavior whilst waving a King James.

However I think there are grass-roots exceptions to the media infotainment standards of FOX and MSNBC... it's sad really that these more common-sense conservative and liberal Christian families cannot be seen doing what they do everyday without the fanfare of letting their left hand know what their right hand is doing. In my opinion Christ teachings put the seat of spiritual power in the least likely and observable of places and once in a while those with true motive get caught doing miracles in news stories reported briefly and as quickly forgotten. Which is probably a good thing since folks or groups who accomplish great good deeds christian or otherwise can often trip over their own goodness.

Well, I don't have cable. I catch a little news on the web. What I speak of are real people who live next to me, who attend church, or the sevral preachers, priests, and pastors I have known in my life.Real people who do not know the bible and even when they do they don't have the strength or will to follow the most important of the scriptures. The Christian version of "Satan" was lifted from the Hebrew and Arabic term, Ha-Satan or Shaitan, which was to mean "Opposite", or "Adversary". Though these religions coexist from the same founding father, they are different.

Christians also like to confuse "Satan" with "Lucifer" which was deviated from the Roman pagan religions.

This "Satan" character did not exist as an entity or being until Christians "evilized" it.

Satan and Lucifer mean two completely different things, where Lucifer was the "God" of Light and was said to bring enlightenment and Light to all of the Universe. It was even said that Lucifer consisted within every being, which is not so far off since science has proven that our very molecules contain biophotons or more commonly, light.

Any Christian who states that they believe in Jesus but does not heed his teachings are not really Christian at all.
Vanity only leads to evil. Without it, there would be no oppression. This is why the Bible stresses on you letting go of your self-importance and give unto the Lord. Every time you think about yourself and not others, you are contributing to the chaos this world is. Love thy neighbor.

As a Christian, the most important thing is to clean yourself up. Get rid of your burdens, forgive others, forget about the vain obscurities in you life and walk with the king.
This why it is harder for a rich man. The rich generally have more objection towards others and are faced with many temptations literally all the time.
Get married, stay faithful. Be generous.

It goes on and on, but the bottom line is when you accept Jesus, you are already considered part of the kingdom. Which means you have a responsibility.

I accept Jesus. I believe he lived and died. Historical texts suggest a man named Jesus died on a cross along with many others who were considered heretics.
