WHY ISLAM FORBIDS THE GOSPEL?

MARCELLO

Transitioning from male to female
I believe when it says "people of the book" it is referring to the whole Bible since that would be in existence in 600 AD. The Torah would represent the OT and the Gospel would represent the NT even though there is a more specific meaning to the term.
No,it does not. People of the book means who thinks about God. The word book mentioned here does not necessarily mean an a book but considering. Did Abraham have a book?

In this case an atheist or other variations of it is perfectly a people of the book.

Kithab means book. All Kithab is people of the book. Not people who think about God and atheists are not addressed there. In the context of the quran.it refers to a people who were given a scripture. A book. Not individual phylosophies. Hope you understand.
Those who believe in a holy scripture. I don't have anything against atheists but a fact is is a fact. Atheists are not considered kafirs or anything like that as most believe but they are not all
Ahlul Kithab is anything quran ice phrase. That is not a phrase that is relevant any other historic era, it is for this era, after quran. Cheers.

Well that's what they say about you guys - so where does that leave us? Every religion thinks it has a monopoly on the truth.

Bunyip,
It is true that most religions claim to be teaching the TRUTH, BUT all but One are lying. The Bible tells us tha there is only ONE FAITH, one Baptism, one lord, and ONE God, Ephesians 4:4-6. This means that all other religions are false, and not blessed by God. The question is; which one is actually the true one??? If a person is truly interested in finding God, He is not far from each one of us, but we must be sincere and ready to accept the truth, and ready to get away from the false religious teachers of today, that teach almost the same false teachings, Acts 17:27.
Since a person does not have the time to go to every religion, and study it to see if it is true, there are many things that are criteria, to look for, in the one true religion.
The true religion must be hated by all men, Matthew 10:22, 24:9. God' people will be persecuted, 2Timothy 3:12, John 15:18-20, some even killed because false believers would believe they were doing a sacred service to God, John 16:2,3.
Consider 1Corinthians 1:10, there should be NO divisions among God's people, they should speak the same line of thought. Which religion could that be??? Is there complete harmony in your religion.
Another very important point,,God's people do not engage in wars, John 13:34,35 God's people would be known by the love they show. I would say that killing your brother, is not a sign of love, is it. Consider what Jesus said at Matthew 26:52, anyone who takes up the sword will die by the sword. What did Jesus mean, since all those who engage in wars do not die in wars??? Jesus meant that all who go to war, if they are not killed then, they will be killed by the Long Sword that protrudes from the mouth of Jesus, when he returns to earth, Revelation 1:16, 13:10, 19:14,15.
Another point that should make it easy for a sincere person to find the true religion is; God's people will be called by His NAME, Acts 15:14,17. Many might reject the true religion, because there description in the Bible, is not what people think would be the true, 1Corinthians 1:26-29.
Good hunting! Agape!!!

The Lost One
It is because for us the Bible contains truth and falsehood. The Qur'an is sufficient for us as holy book and as guide.
Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward (.17:9)
So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allah ," in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn.(2:79)
Except you can't correct the bible with the Qur'an.

The Qur'an and Muslims may claim that the bible is in error or is corrupted, but neither of them can clearly show where these errors are.

So essentially, the Qur'an is not a reliable source to correct the bible.

And if anything, I see the Qur'an being more corrupted than the bible.
