Why Is Nudity Always Sexual?

So how come nudity is always sexual? Why is that? And are nude atheists more nude or more atheist?

It's a cultural thing... I'm more atheist than nude, but that is only because my mom wouldn't like me to not wear clothing when I live in her house. Maybe one day I will be a nudist.

Nudity isnt always sexual..Like a neked baby...

I took baths with my boys when they were little..all the way till they were around 4..We were both neked as jay birds..Nothing was sexual about that..

Also its not sexual when I go to the dr. for my female check ups..I may not be completley nude..but Im spread out there with the sexual parts in full view AND a bright light shining on it..and in fact not only is it neked he views the inside AND sticks his hands up in there..

THEN he examimes my boobies..

Trust me...its far from sexual...

Nudity is not sexual - not to the naturist. It is only sexual to those who are not naturists; a reporter on the BBC television recently undressed to report from a naturist "camp". He said that while he did not feel embarassed at having done so, but he did notice that his (and others') gazes did have a habit of straying...........

I will have to confess..at one point Bananas and cucumbers had a certain sexual appeal to me...Hmmmm..and strangely I was aroudn 35 at that time..

I thought your blog post, Sunstone, was quite good. I think the reason we are so sensitive about nudity is that there is very little understanding of sexuality. It is, of sorts, an 'unspeakable'. The reason our culture has so much promiscuity, especially among the young, is because we mystify it. Nudity should be less mysterious, less sensualized.

On the other hand, nudity can easily become dangerous. All a nude figure has to do is stare into the camera and pornography is practically achieved. As opposed to sculpture, painting and photography only has one 'lens'. When the eyes are posed towards the observer, it opens him/her up to the soul of that individual (if the individual is real). The nude picture is suddenly vulnerable, exposed to the whim of the observer. If the eyes were averted, the soul is safe, and the body is merely beautiful. But the eyes make the nude figure exposed, a cheap connection into the privacy of the mind. The look of a nude figure is one that should be reserved for a lover, not a casual observer or an art critic that will either take advantage of or analyze and criticize the individual.

This is the difference, I think. Nudity must be treated with respect and responsibility.

Probably if we were exposed to more nudity it would be less sensualized..And I dont mean more "porn" with the women pretty much "perfect" bodies and youth..

If old people ..young people ...nursing mothers..children ..were all nude?..I don't think we would think "sex" as much as we do now when we see a naked body..Or a dressed one for that matter..

Now I do think we should at least wear a fig leaf or two.. :sorry1:

Seriously, I camped at a pagan fest for a week, where 50% of the people were nudist, and at first it was a surprise but after a few hours you get used to it. People are just people whether they are wearing clothes or not. And most are not better looking without clothes on LoL :angel2:
