Why I detest the JW

JWs are not killers.
There are hundreds and hundreds around here and none has ever killed, either deliberately or recklessly.

If you are so upset about JWs that you need to point at them as killers, then it seems as if you still have not come to peace over leaving them.

So what do you call refusing a child a blood transfusion that would save that childs life?

There is no "would". Blood transfusions do not guarantee survival.

In cases where recommended by medical specialists a blood transfusion will aid or in some cases can effect a cure.

And i am pretty sure modern day medical specialists are more knowledgeable about modern medicine than a bronze age book.

Anyway, even if a blood transfusion has only a small chance of saving a childs life, i would gladly donate blood on that chance, wouldn't you?

I don't have to think about it. I had cancer. They do not want my blood.
But, the rest is true except I would change "where recommended by medical specialists" to where recommended by honest trustworthy specialists and get a second opinion.
Did you see the video? I think it is true that giving blood has become routine. Routine to me means without much thought.

This isn't about you, so assume you didn't have cancer.

I consider medical specialists to be, in general, trustworthy and honest. If it turns out that they are not then, certainly in europe, anomalies are investigated, if founded he offending doctor is struck off and winds up out of work.

That being said, if the condition is not common then a second opinion is always a good idea.

Fyi1. My childhood friend died of a liver desease, with fairly regular blood transfusions and medication she would have lived a normal, productive life.

Fyi2, Hope the C is treatable. My hubby has recently been treated for C, so i know what you are going through. He doesn't get the all clear for a few more weeks of tests but fingers crossed.

I thought you said you don't give a fig for my posts not addressed to you?

Heated ranters are just so predictable! :D
Easy!

I do give a for some other posters.

Intetesting that you don't have it in you to actually answer the question. It's almost as though you can't.

We never open the door to the JW cult, these days.

I shall remove myself from this forum if one is unable to state one's opinion of something which I believe to be evil like the JW faith.

Pretty harsh.
But I cannot imagine that you would not be able to share your beliefs. That is the purpose of this forum.
My belief is that very few people actually try to be evil. And I see nothing evil about the JW faith.
But many people are misled and deceived in this world. That is the evil.

Jehovah’s Witnesses Owe $2 Million for Hiding Info on Child Sex Abuse

The ruling stems from a case in San Diego, where Osbaldo Padron sued the Jehovah’s Witnesses for failing to warn congregants that a child abuser was in their midst.

Padron, a former Jehovah’s Witness, was sexually abused as a child by an adult member of his congregation named Gonzalo Campos. Campos confessed to sexually abusing seven children.

According to internal Watchtower documents, the organization has instructed congregation leaders, called elders, to keep child abuse secret from law enforcement as a matter of policy since at least 1989.

I don't know why this thread bothers me so much. To be perfectly honest, I am not a huge fan of the Jehovah's Witnesses. I have never had a negative encounter with them when they've come to my home with a Watchtower and a message. I have, on the other hand, had some extremely negative interactions with them on this forum. Without naming any names, I have found several of them to be extremely judgmental, condescending, intolerant, deceitful and flat out nasty. Maybe that's because forums like this bring out the worst in some people, and when a person who feels very strongly about something can express himself anonymously, there are bound to be those who take advantage of the fact that they have no way to actually see how they are coming across to others.

I just looked up the word "detest," and found the following synonyms: hate, loathe, despise, execrate, regard with disgust, shrink from, recoil from, and shudder at. I know a lot of people "detest" my religion, too, which means that they hate, loathe, despise, execrate, etc. it. That's hard for me to accept, but I know it's true. Seriously, there are 114 posts on this thread before this one. I haven't read them all, and I don't intend to. But I do suspect that a good portion of them are from self-professed Christians. To anyone who is a Christian and has admitted to "detesting" the Jehovah's Witnesses, I'd just like to ask you this: Can you even imagine the One you believe took upon himself your sins, that you might have everlasting life in God's presence saying, "I detest the Jehovah's Witnesses"?

Yes, "detest", when it appears to be applied to people, seems hateful.
(I'm surprised that a thread with such a title would survive moderation.)
JW's run the gamut of human traits. A couple of'm have been good
internet friends of mine....very friendly towards us godless heathens.

Thanks, you godless heathen, you. ;) I pretty much figured that if I were to get any responses to that post, they'd be people telling me to stop being so self-righteous. I'm sure my post probably came across that way, but as you said, the word "detest" does seem hateful when applied to people. It just seems like the subject could have been broached in a less hostile manner and maybe have been just as effective without being so insulting.

Frankly, I think you're incompetent at being self-righteous.
