Well I tend to believe in certain things that strike me as likely or as something that makes sense.

This would explain why I don't believe in much. I don't hold to any one religion, although Buddhism seems interesting. I look retarded in orange so I've ignored my interests.

Now on the political spectrum I believe in what I believe in partially due to my upbringing. I've tried my best however to drop the BS and the baggage that my parents and grand parents held onto....despite what some of the liberals here would say.

But in either case, political or philosophical...I believe in what I believe because I think it's a good path to follow...otherwise I wouldn't believe in it.

On the spiritual level, I believe in what I believe in because I've had experience with it. Talked to spirits, never talked to deities, etc.

I believe what I believe because experiences in life has led me to solidify my beliefs, regardless as to whether or not I use selective perception.

i believe the way i believe because of the experiences that brought me to those beliefs, and since taking those beliefs, i have had several confirming experiences.

What I believe just makes a whole lot of sense to me. It rings true. I like the answers to life's questions that, for me, can only be found within the teachings of my Church. I like the way its doctrines fill in the gaping holes left by other religious traditions. I couldn't not be what I am.

I love my God because my God loves all of us, regardless of race, gender or relgion.

So we all believe in something that we see as the truth and works for us.
Our answers towards what we believe in does not differ. :)

    Sweet.

Thank you for all you're answers

p.s. now that you all know that the reason we all believe in what we believe in are very similar. Point being respect someone's beliefs no matter how exotic and crazy it seems to you, because they believe in what they believe in for that same reason you believe in something.

p.ss. well The majority of us ... :D

psss. my head hurts.. How many times did i say believe?

It is not at all similar. The ontological naturalist derives his or her worldview from intersubjectively verifiable tests.

Well the answer depends on exactly what we are talking about. If you mean why do I believe in Buddhism, it is because I prove every day that it works; that it make a significant difference in my daily life.

Or does it work because you believe in it? You 'prove' nothing.
